Personal write-up: Will you stay with me forever?
General Wiki: How dare YOU admonish ME vermin!

[ Personality ] :
Let's take an in-depth look on those fractured selves, shall we?

Innocent Raenef is the dominant half, which is what usually everyone sees and who Raenef himself identifies with. This Raenef wears his heart on his sleeve; everyone knows exactly how he's feeling because he's not very good at hiding it and, unless he has to, he rarely tries. His emotions are often extremes (ie: He's not happy, he's positively gleeful. He's not sad, he's downright depressed) and yet, unless it's an important event, he can cycle through them relatively quickly, almost as if the former emotion didn't happen.

HONEST: Raenef wears his heart on his sleeve; everyone knows exactly how he's feeling because he's not very good at hiding it and, unless he has to, he rarely tries. There's a raw genuineness about him, in both his words and his actions. But sometimes his honesty can be a little blunt. For instance, Raenef blurting out that he thinks the name for the Dark Arrow is dorky and then regretting it when realizing that Eclipse created the old-fashioned name as well as the attack. Oops... Another example? He can't hide his blushing to save his life.

NAIVE: If obliviousness were an Olympic sport, Raenef would podium before the event began. With innocence comes naivite. Raenef often finds himself in situations where people try and lead him away from his Demon Lord goal. Since he so gullible, it's easy for him to fall into traps. How bad is it? He fell for the 'look over there!' trick when Erutis attempted to kill him and then run away when she was unsuccessful. He will, without fault, believe just about anything.

DITZ: Sometimes, especially when it comes to his studies, Raenef can be a ditz (and that's putting it mildly). He's not stupid, but he's generally not quick on the uptake. Though it's not mentioned in the canon, it can be inferred that Raenef never had any formal education (that he remembers) before training with Eclipse. Because of this, he can't sit still when people are lecturing him and either will yawn or fall asleep outright. But remember - he's like this because he doesn't have the mental state to retain information well.

KIND: Really, Raenef is the kid that'll greet anyone with the world's biggest smile. Though it's not Demon Lord-Approved, his friendships with humans has gotten him out of a few sticky situations and earned him allies in Chris and Erutis. His sunshine sweetness has somehow even earned Eclipse's trust. This Raenef is extremely caring and considerate of other people, fellow demon or otherwise. If someone he cares about is hurt in any way, he'll recklessly run over to help them. He's also good for advice if you want to do the right thing as he has a moral compass that almost always points north.

DETERMINED: Above all else, he desires so badly to be a proper Demon Lord. He might have fallen into his title by chance, but it's something he actually aspires to do well, even if he doesn't like being mean. He wants Eclipse to be proud of him and to not be a burden.

However, if a Demon Lord is supposed to pillage towns and terrorize humans, this Raenef isn't ideal. Personality #2 is. He's just not preferred by anyone close to Raenef.

Not a lot is known about Personality #2, mostly because when it appears, the main characters are usually trying to suppress it back in. We do know that, when he's fully awakened, he's the one who retains all of Raenef's memories, intelligence, and magical prowess. He is calculating and cold and very, very powerful because unlike Raenef's dominant personality, he knows exactly how to use his magic. Unlike everyday-Raenef, this one enjoys fighting, power, and dominance. Thus, he is insulted when people don't respect him for his rank and he does not care about the consequences of his behavior. When Raenef is in this state, it's goodbye warm smiles, goodbye sunshine, and let's get down to business - how to properly assert his authority over everyone else by any means necessary.

Yet, he does show a gentler side to his other half when they finally decide to join as one. While Innocent Raenef was hesitant, this one convinces him with smiles and affection that their union is for the best. So he's not completely heartless. He's just heartless when he's the only personality around.

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :

((For the sake of the RP, all of these magical strengths will be downplayed accordingly. These are only suggestions and I'm willing to change them. Please let me know if the limits suffice! ))

+ Survivor's Instinct: Yes, Raenef is an airhead at times. But he did survive on the streets for fifteen years as a thief. He deserves some credit for that. The kid has street savvy. He lived the majority of his life without knowing he had any magic, so he knows how to take care of himself without it. He knows how to run, how to hide, how to steal. He doesn't like doing any of this, but if he has to in order to survive, he will.

+ Dark Magic: Despite Raenef's sunshine appearance, his powers are strictly dark. Raenef is one of those cases in which personality does not equal power type. He collects darkness from the air and shapes it to whatever he wants. The magical energy he uses is called Mesraez and it works like RPG games' MP; depending on the spell's difficulty, he has to use a certain amount of Mesraez. Raenef has been known to store a lot of Mesraez in his body at once (5x more than necessary). But since Raenef is a super rookie at using magic, he only knows how to cast Dark Arrow, a midlevel spell. Other than that, he can make some nifty shapes with his dark energy when he's bored. RP Limit: He can make the random shapes but the full force of the Dark Arrow is only at 1/4 his normal power. Plus, it takes quite a bit of energy from him.

+ Teleportation: As long as he knows where he's going, Raenef can teleport there. He has to be relatively familiar with it, as he must picture it clearly in his mind and say 'Go' in order for it to work. Apparently, he can also take people with him, as he did to Chris after the holy cleric handed him over. RP Limit: Temporarily locked. When he adjusts to the place, he'll only be able to teleport on the same level of Vatheon he's currently in.

+ Thick-skull: Raenef's head is impenetrable. No, really, it is. He's been known to split swords. It's never directly addressed, but it seems this is only true if his life is threatened. Eclipse hits him with a stick every time he gets a question wrong and that stick does not break. It could be a magic demon-beating stick or maybe Eclipse is just really good at picking sticks (I wouldn't put it passed him), but I doubt it. RP Limit: His head is impenetrable to knives and smaller, sharp objects, but full swords are out.

- Light Magic: Chris' Holy Bolt is a legendary spell that, as Eclipse warned, could take the life of a demon. Similarly, IV was cursed by the same heavenly creatures Chris' Temple exalts. Since Holy Bolt is apart of light magic and creatures of heaven use light magic, it can be assumed that any light magic in large dosages potentially fatal to Raenef.

- Lessons: Raenef cannot retain information to save his life (or Eclipse's blows). Studying, spelling, anything that resembles schoolwork, Raenef is nearly hopeless. However, as the 150th anniversary approached, his memory seems to have improved enough to remember the Hangma War in full and correct Chris' historical facts, so he's not totally useless. But occasions like that are rare.

- The Demon Lord is a Girl: People either get it wrong that Raenef is the Demon Lord due to his brightness and cheer or they think he's a girl due to his androgyny. In fact, Raenef is often written off as Eclipse's servant because Eclipse just looks the part of a Demon Lord: pitch black hair, brooding, and mysterious. No matter how hard he tries, Raenef truly can't win against that image.

- Tomatoes: He likes food. He likes food and he likes tomatoes a lot. The bigger, the better. When large tomatoes in his dream are blown up by evil Eclipses, he cries.

[ Other Important Facts ] :
Raenef at this point is basically a bundle of potential energy. He doesn't really know what he's capable of or that his other personality exists because he always forgets when it reveals itself. The dormant, sleeping half of Raenef shows its face in one of two ways: 1) Being forcefully pulled out of him through magic or 2) Accidentally, as in something or someone ticked him off enough to show a glimpse of his other side. Both ways are temporary, though the former allows it to stay around for a much longer period of time. The only people (in canon) that can permanently pull this side out are the celestial beings, as it's apart of the Annihilation of the Name Curse. And the only people (in canon) that can put it back permanently are IV and Raenef himself.

This mun is willing to play this side, should it call for it in the RP.

[ Sample ] :
[He was staring up at the sky when -this- happened, so that's what he's doing now. Only now, there's no sky, is there? He blinks, trying to figure out how the heck he got drenched, then gasps and looks to the left.]

Chris, I didn't know you knew how to do elemental spells too! But did you have to hit me with wa.....ter?

[Only there's no Chris. Or Erutis. Just a place he doesn't know and lots of water. Like, an oceanful of the wet stuff. Wait...Oh no. Oh no oh no oh no oh no no no nonononononono! Could Chris be right? No way! He must have just teleported here accidentally because...because Chris scared him so bad! Yeah, that's it. He could just teleport back! Awesome!]

...Go! Go! Go! Go!

[No use; Go-teleport magic is not working. Not a good sign. Not a good sign at all! What about yelling? Would yelling work? He couldn't be the only person here, right? A shaky little smile starts to appear. Yeah, everyone's here... wherever... here... is.]

Chris? Chris? The joke's over. Hey, Erutis? ...Eclipse?

[Uh-oh...

It's sinking in; this is the heavenly creatures' curse. They've banned him from his own castle and banished him far far far faaaaaaaaaar away from his friends and locked away his powers. Yeah, he's freaking out. Freaking out like nobody's business.

He crumples in a tight, little ball. Have a young demon on the verge of crying buckets.]

[ Questions? Comments? Concerns? ] :

I realize that just about everything about this application is confusing. I tried really hard not to reiterate anything but I might have in trying to fully explain Raenef's part in Demon Diary, especially since it's somewhat an obscure series. If you have any questions, just let me know. I'd be happy to answer them!

Also, Raenef's memory is so ridiculously bad anyway, is it okay if I play with that upon his return? As in, he might remember some stuff but other stuff, it's just air between his ears.
