Heyas. It has been a good month so far, which is rare for my birth month. ;) The month started off with a boom, literally. About a week out from Laura's birthday on the 5th, we had a gathering at our place. It was especially great because the landlord somehow did not raise a whimper about it, although he snooped as he drove by slowly. Normally he complains about us for having made too much noise (people outside for like ten minutes one time in nearly five years of renting) or having more than two cars there in the driveway. In the last few months he has been as quiet as a church mouse though. We had eight additional cars in the driveway, and along the road this time. :D
The party was totally last minute with people only getting the rough time and directions Wednesday and Thursday nights, in some cases Friday and even Saturday. For this reason, a lot of our friends towards Raleigh were not made aware of it. It was no slight though, rest assured. It started out as a "maybe we'll go eat and bowl then come back and sing karaoke at home" idea and morphed into a gathering at the house as the week went. JD and Mjay had been plotting to come up to surprise Laura but we had called them before then, which started the ball rolling.
Most of the people invited were able to attend, thankfully. Mjay and her guests were absent, as well as Nef. Chuck was not able to make it since he worked 13 hours that day, and his roommate Amy and her ex husband were not available though I forgot to call her until Saturday! :( I was glad in a way Amy was awol because I had not met her ex husband and from the stories I've heard, there would have been drama. In attendance were Miranda, Corey, Randy, Kesha, Doni, the twins Adam & PJ, JD, Josh, and last but not least, Brian. People started arriving at 3:30 pm or so last Saturday, and Kesha was the last to go home about 5:30 am Sunday. Miranda helped me organize a lot of it, especially as a hiding place for some gifts of Laura's and the custom printed cake which we went in on together. We drove all the way to Mooresville to order and retrieve it, but it was worth it in the end. Our local Harris Teeter had a broken cake printer.
Instead of describe the party beyond that, I will simply url you to photos of the day. If you read descriptions included with them, you will get a better idea of the fun we had. It was porbablyhands down, the best party Laura and I have ever thrown. There is video on YouTube if you know my user ID. Find me on IRC or email if you don't, as this will be a public entry.
Bison Birthday Bash Photos Hope you all are well. I will be making a Bomberman post later or tomorrow about the fun had this weekend.
