X: Day 8 - Arrival

Mar 26, 2006 03:00

Phew.

Long flight.

We depart Vegas on Ted. We arrive in LA 20 minutes early, which is a good thing because we ended up needing every minute we had... See, the guy that checked the baggage and issued the tickets for the Ted flight was all like "Yes, you'll get your Delta tickets for the flight to Atlanta at the gate in LAX."

So we get to LAX and Ms. Bossy Blackchick is all yelling at the various customers around the place - and she's the only Delta employee in sight. So, right after she tells this lost-looking 60 year old guy who was clutching his ticket desperately to "SIT DOWN!" and tells everyone else in the immediate area off with a cry of "I DON'T OPEN UNTIL 9:15!", I kinda had to ask her "Hey, where's my gate and my ticket?" She sends me off to Ticketing. So 30 minutes later, me and Rathmann have walked 2 miles, been to Ticketing and are going through security. For the second time on our trip. Me and Rathmann barely make it to our gate in time for boarding. Ms. Bossy Blackchick is lucky we did, because it would have been her head on a plate - literally or figuratively depending on whether or not those Delta punks got me to Louisville on time or not. I was in no mood to not resort to physical violence at that point.

Flight to Atlanta... got to watch Aeon Flux, the movie, and the end of Harry Potter: Goblet of Fire on a monitor in the back of the seat in front of me. Also got to track the aircraft's progress on that same monitor. Flight to Louisville was quick and painless. Drive home wasn't too bad - especially since my Dad was driving.

Aeon Flux was actually a much better film than I expected. I was worried it would suck terribly, because I remember how cool the cartoon was. I shouldn't have been worried, really. The Harry Potter flick was pretty good too, from what I saw.

And now I'm going to sleep. While mi Padre unloads the car. zzz
