thought this was an amazing moment in world and especially environmental history.

at the moment there's this festival on in sydney. it's an arts fest which has been using light and projection to promote green energy. it's being run by Brian Eno if you know his work. he's got his artwork projected onto the opera house for 3 weeks and he's also got these light boxes installed all through circular quay. the amazing and insanely impressive bit is that the whole thing, including the lights and generators for the projectors were solely powered by VEGETABLE OIL they get donated by restaurants all over sydney. the exhaust smells like fried chips and aparently when the guy pours in teh oil he gets swarmed by seagulls.

do you understand the implications? we won't need petroleum ANYMORE. AT ALL. and let's not forget the implications on exhaust fumes and environmental impact.

argh!

so i looked up vegetable oil as a power source type thing and it looks like people are using it to power their CARS.

"David and Katrina drive a Ford F-350 on Straight Vegetable Oil reclaimed from Asian restaurants, and have covered over 70,000 miles to-date."

i looked up F350...
