What is this place? It certainly isn’t home and it’s not familiar to me in any way, shape, or form. I didn’t think I’d get drafted into a… war… either, I’m not the type to fight. I have never been a fighter; I guess you could call me a lover instead. Or a chef, I’m that as well, but certainly not a fighter

I, too, consider myself more of a lover than a fighter. This place has a strange idea of what constitutes a soldier, for I am but an author.

An author? I'm slowly beginning to see that this isn't so much of a military facility but instead a prison. A pity, you can't make an army from civilians with no training.

It's lacking the comforts of home, I'll admit, but it's not so bad. Although I could see it that way because I've pretty much come from one prison into another.

Ah? It's quite different than what I'm used to and I see no way of which my art would be viable...

Once you sample the food provided, I think you'll find a use for your talents.

Not many can cook, I'm guessing? My talent is mainly in pastries, but I could make some fairly basic foods of other types...

I would say most at least know what to do if you give them two pieces of bread and a slice of lunch meat. Luckily my beloved knows a bit about what to do in a kitchen. I generally cheat.

I believe a couple of the buildings here have been turned into dining establishments. You may want to present yourself to these places, or perhaps open a bakery here. It would be a treat to have real pastries instead of imagined ones.

If there's an open place I could put one at then I would gladly do so. I'd much rather have someone enjoying my creations than to make them and they go to waste.

I expect that if you announced you have food, your creations will indeed not go to waste. Every artist, whether he works in paints, words, or dough, enjoys having his work properly appreciated.
