Once more into the breech!
Today I had lunch with my contract manager and the senior Tech Editor. They asked me if I am comfortable with my job and I had to be truthful and say, “No, I’m not.”
Documentation needs will be increasing considerably, and I just don’t have the skills for it. I’ve been relying on the other tech writer but she will be returning to her assigned projects in October. She is going to work with me to get me set on the things that I CAN do, but I will be replaced. Which is fine with me.
Of course it’s not really “fine,” because now I have to find a new job. But I’m no longer living in fear that I will be “caught.”
