I now have the two adventures I'll be running at Kapcon XX (2011) up on the con's website. This year I'm only running both once (1st session both days) as I want to do more gaming (if only to get to spend more time with my friends 'in character'). To this end I'm also going to do the LARP this year, and I'm going to see if the Aucklanders & Em want to give it a go as well.
First up I'll be running THE SNARK - a plot based on Lewis Carroll's 'Hunting of the Snark' nonsense poem. I want this one to be nice and emotional, with some back stabbing, player confrontations and a creeping fear. I've also always wanted to incorporate some of the speeches from the poem (and Mike Batt's adaptation) into an RPG, so expect some grand standing by the NPCs :P
Secondly I've settled on running Precinct '77, a 70s cop action/drama adventure. I want this to be over the top; doors bashed down, wise arse comments, and more that a little bit of "Trust Me, I Know What I'm Doing". The more I looked into this genre the more I realised it is a smorgas board of sterotypes and natural drama - but in a way that doesn't get in the way of the action.
For the LARP I'm gunning for a decision making type of character, one who doesn't have be at the frefront of the general plot, but has some infuence of the actions of his (or her) group. We'll see after Fright Night, when the first characters come out I suppose!
