Title: A Tokyo Apartment
Characters: 3 Ossans + Ryo
Rating: PG at a stretch
Notes: I've had this plot bunny floating around for ages. It's set round the era thar Yoko, Hina, Subs and Ryo were all fairly big in Tokyo, before the Kansai Johnny's office started and they weren't heard of for a while. I'm such a sucker for emo Subs.

Shingo stepped inside with a perfunctory call of
“Tadaima”, and was almost immediately hit with the solid, gangly mass of Subaru Shibutani.

“Okaeri.” Yoko returned, voice coming from the lounge room.

“Warm.” Subaru mumbled, insinuating his arms around the dancer’s waist and nuzzling his tummy. Hina smiled and wrapped his arms around the singer, easily lifting him and carrying him back to the warmth of the lounge room.

“That’s the first thing he’s said all day.” Yoko informed him, shifting over on the couch so there was room for all three of them. Subaru smiled adoringly up at Hina, hands roaming with childlike curiosity over the younger male’s torso.

“What’s wrong?”

The question was addressed to Subaru, but the only reply he got was an infamous prolonged blink.

“His medication.” Yoko answered for him. “We saw the doctor today and he’s trialling a new antidepressant.”

“It seems to be working.”

Hina gasped as Subaru suddenly thrust his hands down his pants and began kneading roughly. He looked to Yoko for explanation, and the eldest just shrugged.

“That seems to be a side effect.” He gently disentangled the singer. “I can’t decided whether it’s taking advantage of him or not.”

“You had sex with him like this?” Shingo was almost outraged.

“Of course not.” Yoko replied instantly, voice rising as Subaru snuck a hand up under his shirt and tweaked his nipples. “I made him a cup of tea and we watched TV.”

“How noble.”

The conversation was prevented from going any further by a collection of sounds from the genkan. It started with the scratching of poorly aimed keys, was followed by the dual thump of shoes being kicked off with gay abandon, and was rounded out with something that started out with ‘tada-‘, should have ended with ‘-ima’, but instead ended with a loud retch and footsteps bolting for the bathroom.

“BABY!” Subaru yelled, leaping from the couch to chase the footsteps. Shingo and Yoko were close behind. By the time they got there Subaru was already wrapped around Ryo, who himself was wrapped around the toilet.

“Babu...” Hina called gently, trying to pry the older singer off the younger. “Come on...”

“Baby, baby, baby...” Subaru mourned, gradually releasing his grip to leave care of the youngest to Yoko. “Baby...”

“He’ll be alright.”

Subaru allowed himself to be picked up and carried back to the lounge room. He was deposited on the couch and kept there with promises of tea. Running water sounded from the bathroom, and a few minutes later Yoko re-emerged. Shingo handed him a cup of tea with a wordless question.

“He’s sitting in the bath for a bit now. He should be fine.” Yoko answered. “He reeks of beer and cigarette smoke though. I’m worried for him.”

“Baby?” Subaru asked, agitated but seemingly unable to communicate in anything but a few choice words.

“He’ll be fine, Subaru.” Yoko soothed, sitting next to the singer and stroking his hair. “Now I’d best get him out of that bath, okay?”

Subaru nodded. Yoko rose and collected a pair of pyjamas for their youngest before retrieving him from the bath so he could dress him. Shingo prepared another cup of tea and some toast for Ryo. When Ryo returned, albeit in the arms of Yoko, he certainly looked pleased to see the offering.

“Now what does that teach you about drinking?” Yoko asked as he settled the young male onto the couch beside Subaru, who immediately latched onto his ‘baby’. Ryo smiled shyly and nodded.

“Great.” Shingo commented. “Now we have two people who can’t speak.”

Ryo gave another apologetic smile around his mouthful of toast. Subaru stroked Ryo’s hair and chortled happily, mindless of the others.

“Finish your tea and then I think you need to go to bed.” Yoko instructed, clearing Ryo’s empty toast plate. The youngest nodded and tried sipping faster, wincing as his tongue was burnt. Shingo had to leap in and pry Subaru off when he decided to kiss him better.

“Come on, Subaru.” Shingo whispered, scooping the tiny male up. “I think it’s time for bed for you...” Subaru’s hand infiltrated his underwear again and Hina nearly dropped him “...no, not that bed.”

Subaru pouted and widened his dark eyes. They held Shingo captive until smacked his shoulder on the door frame and looked away, swearing. Subaru giggled and nuzzled the younger male’s neck affectionately. Despite giggling the entire time Shingo undressed him, Subaru was asleep the moment his head touched the pillow, face relaxing from one mask of euphoria to another. Hina kissed him lightly on the cheek and went out to see how Yoko was going with the youngest.

As it turned out, Ryo had passed out at some point between finishing his tea and Yoko putting the cup in the sink. The young male barely weighed anything and as such Yoko had no trouble carrying him to bed.

“How did it go today?” Yoko asked once they were seated on the couch together, their wards tucked safely in bed. Shingo immediately dropped the façade, curling up in Kimi’s lap and not relaxing until the eldest started stroking him reassuringly.

“They can’t guarantee us work once we’re back in Osaka.” Hina whispered, voice filled with seldom voiced insecurities. “We probably won’t get to work in Tokyo again for a while. I don’t know how those two are going to cope, especially with how they are now.”

“Being home will probably help them settle down.”

“But they survive on being known...how will they survive without that?”

“Shh...” Yoko soothed, pulling Shingo up for a light kiss. “We’ll help them through it. We’ll help each other through it. We'll be alright. We always are.”

Shingo sighed and let himself drift off to sleep on Yoko’s chest. Yoko couldn’t sleep, telling himself he was keeping vigil on those he loved and worried about the most, but haunted by the same insecurities as all the others.

“We’ll be alright.” He repeated to himself. “We always are.”
