Title: Morning Call
Pairing: Yasuda/Subaru
Rating: G...wait, what? *rereads* Yes...G. How peculiar.
Notes: At a recent concert, during the MC, Subaru was asked what the first thing he did in the morning was. His answer: "Call Yasu."
Subaru opened his eyes and yawned. Early morning sunlight was streaming through the hotel window, making him feel warm on both the in- and outside. He struggled to some semblance of upright against the soft pillows and scrabbled around the bedside table for his phone. He wanted nothing more than to share this moment with his best friend and lover; the group's guitarist.
Shota was awakened by the obnoxiously cheery tune of KanFuu Fighting. Grumbling to no one in particular, he grabbed wildly at the noise until he caught it, dragging his phone to his ear and answering.
"Sho~chan! Oha~yo!" Subaru sung in his ear.
"Ohayo, Shibuyan." Yasu mumbled back, voice still thick with sleep.
"Shochan, it's time to wake up!"
"I am awake. Now." The guitarist yawned, stretching. Something wasn't quite right about this phone call, but he just couldn't put his finger on it.
"Shochan, it's a beautiful day today."
Subaru's voice seemed louder than it should have been.
"Shochan, are you listening? Shochan?"
Come to think of it, where was he?
"Shochan, I want breakfast in bed."
Something clicked inside the guitarist's head. Slowly he rolled over...
"Shochan?"
...and found that yes, he was still in the double bed he'd been sharing with the singer. Said singer was grinning amicably at him, waving, and yelling his name into the phone. Yasuda groaned loudly and superfluously into the phone before hanging up and setting it heavily back down on the bedside table so he could get a few more minutes' sleep.
A couple of seconds later the phone started ringing again. Shota groaned and hit a key to cancel the call. Subaru repeated his efforts a further three times before Shota practically screamed and threw the phone at him. The device bounced harmlessly off Subaru and fell to the floor, where it continued to chirp innocently until Yasuda glared darkly enough at his lover that Subaru had the sense to hang up.
"Ohayo, Shochan." Subaru tried again, putting his phone away so Shota wouldn't hit him. Shota gave an inarticulate grunt of displeasure and rolled over, away from the singer so he could snooze for a bit longer.
Subaru poked him. Yasu kicked him in the shin.
Subaru wrapped himself around Shota in a giant, glompfing hug. Yasu snuggled into his embrace.
“Shochan, are you actually going to get up today?”
“I will. Eventually.”
“Is there anything that will make you get up now?”
Yasu contemplated this for a few seconds.
“You could pretend I was Princess Aurora.”
“Who?”
“Sleeping Beauty.”
“Oh. Doesn’t that mean you’re going to sleep for a hundred years?”
Shota pulled the pillow over his head and tried to get a few more minutes before the penny dropped.
He didn’t have to wait long before the pillow was pulled off him and a big wet kiss was placed square on his lips. A peck would have been sufficient for the purposes of Shota’s pretence, but a real snog was nice too. And expected, with a boyfriend like Subaru.
Shota felt fully awake when they broke for air a few minutes later. Sighing happily, he pulled himself upright, sheets pooling around his waist in a way that made Subaru feel even more awake in certain places.
“What would you like for breakfast?” Shota asked cheerfully.
Subaru gave him a wicked smile.
And despite waking up early, they were late to work.
