1. Kili (or some other dwarf or Bilbo but I'm going to talk about Kili because I read about him the most) is not a character to channel female authors' fantasy! I've gotten sick of all the fics where he's portrayed as a damsel in distress! There's a difference between putting a character is an unfamiliar and troubling situation and turning them into a weepy, crying character who needs saving and whose role is to do cute and/and emotional things. Kili is a warrior. He is childish and look far more feminine than other dwarfs (see: lack of facial hair), definitely, but he is not a feminine character! (And don't even go to that fic where Thorin is described as an overly emotional character who spends every chapter crying. It's so transparently self-insert, it's enraging).
2. Rule 63 =/= personality transplant. It just means, in the case of male character, slapping boobs on their chests and replacing their dicks with vaginas. With female characters it means taking away their boobs and replacing their vaginas with dicks. THE CHANGE IS PHYSICAL, NOT PSYCHOLOGICAL. And while we're on the subject of rule 63, why not do this to other dwarfs. It seems like whenever some author decides someone is going to be female it's either Kili or Bilbo. Think outside of the box, people!
3. Language. Now I'm not very familiar with it because I've only read translated lotr and hobbit books, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't use American English. Well, that's too complicated to non-English speaker like me, honestly. So, I just want to confirm one thing, so English-speakers please help me here. I'm pretty sure the term 'OK' or 'Okay' has no place in that universe.
4. Nit-picky complaints for individual oneshot fics where they rush to the good ol' sex scenes. It can be done. But if you give it a half decent plot leading to the sexing then skip much of it to get to the sexing as soon as possible, then it's not well-written. Here's an alternative: Make the plot the background. Explain it in a few paragraphs then get to the climax of the issue and bam! You can have your sexy time!
