I won't Write People's Thesis

Yesterday my employer asked me if I wanted to write someone's undergrad thesis. I said I couldn't do it if it's quantitative thesis, because statistical analysis wasn't my specialty (my undergrad thesis was a qualitative study). Just now I told my mom about it and she said I should've taken the job because the pay is high. Ugh, no thanks. It's one thing to help people write thesis -I give my friends advices every now and then- but I won't write it for them. If people want to be lazy and stupid, then leave me out of it. I like being lazy and smart.

Then my mom told me about her friend's son who had a job like that (writing people's thesis) and it paid his master's education. He stopped because his mother told him that he should get a better, more honorable job, like working for the government. So he quit his job and is now working for the department of law. Even though he's only been working there for a couple of years, he can send him mother a few million rupiah every month. In comparison, my mom only makes less than 3M per month even though she's been working for 20 years. Hmm.. I wonder how he gets that money... NOT.

I think we define 'honor' differently. I don't make much money and people look down on freelance job, but I don't make the younger generation stupider or free criminals who can afford to pay me. I think my job is far more honorable than his.
