Finding Faith

Finding My Faith

When I think the system’s broken-
That everything I know is a lie…
I remember the ancient words spoken
Shema Yisrael Adoni…

There was beauty in brutality when
I found my faith in shattered glass.
Their legacy was how they fit.
They taught that nothing will last.

Each priest was made from the whole.
There’s brutality in their separate beauty.
They used to work together, each shard.
Knowing they still can, is something to be.

I found my faith in the mirror as I knew
That even hidden in this broken reflection,
It was never secretive, it was showing me,
Teaching me without any other rejection.

I don’t want to put the pieces
Back together and have it remade.
It took so long to break and renew…
My faith has seen enough change.
