Bel still felt guilty about
using Cally the way he had, but he had to get the spell, and it was the fastest and safest option. He knew what Raynor was doing -- deliberately setting him up to betray his friends so they wouldn't trust him, would take away the support he needed to keep the demon half of him under control. And it was working. Piper must hate him, and if Cally found out how he'd abused her trust....
But he obediently shimmered to the Underworld to present the spell to Raynor. "Well done, Belthazor," his mentor said. "And much more quickly this time. I am pleased."
"What next?" Bel said shortly.
"You may have a few days to yourself," Raynor said. "I will send word to you when your services are required."
Bel started to turn away, and Raynor smiled. "I can feel the rage in you, Belthazor, but soon it will be directed where it should be."
He waved his hand in front of Bel's face; Bel flinched. "What did you just do?"
"Nothing," Raynor said. "Now go. I will summon you when I need you."
Bel bowed his head and shimmered home.
