I did get married. Its been pretty cool but its been difficult as well. 5 months after we got hitched my wife's father died unexpectedly. Its just one of those things that we all have to go through at some point - I was hoping for more of a honeymoon though :) I still have my house, its still old and falling apart, and I still love it. I also started a software company - so I don't actually have time to do much of anything other than work. So the house has been at a bit of standstill and will likely remain so for another 6 to 12 months. This makes me sad but hey, at the same time I'm saving a lot of money by not running out to Lowes every weekend.

I'm not as well versed in the tax implications of either candidates proposals as you are - mostly because I've never reached that point in my life where it really matters. Hopefully that will change but either way its going to depend a lot more on what Congress is willing to do more than what the president wants. So I'll pay more attention then. With the way the congressional elections are going McCain's tax plan has a snowball's chance. I don't think Obama's has a much better chance either. What we end up with is going to be a weird, sickly, unfathomable compromise. As per usual.
