slowly moving
This weekend, after the intereseting Friday night that we had, has been great. :-)
We were essentially snowed in. Obviously, had there been a need, we could've left but who needs that??
We ordered in from Bilotti's last night. i had the lasagna and nick and the caesar salad. YUM! It took about 1.5 hours for our food to arrive in the storm, and nick gave the delivery guy a generous tip for the trouble. So we ate our dinner together, watched a little stupid tv on the nice lapton and enjoyed each other's company. We played some Super Mario Galaxy (I can help collect STAR BITS!!) and played a game of Scrabble before the evening to a more adventurous turn. It was a great night.
Today we slept until 10, ate lunch (leftovers) at noon and did chores....after some more Super Mario Galaxy (YAY STAR BITS!). We watched In America (which is beautifully sad) and cried a little. We had grilled cheese and tomato soup for dinner and have been sitting on the couch, in front of a "roaring" fire and reading our books. All the while, we've been listening to the soundtracks from Chronicles of Narnia and Beowulf. It's been, not magical, but....an amazingly contented evening. the whole weekend for the most part. Saturday and Sunday have been the best days I have had in an excruitatingly long time and I'm only so grateful that Nick has been here with me for the whole thing. We are doing wonderfully. I think, in some ways, the troubles we've dealt with most recently have only managed to strengthen our bond - at least after consciously deciding that it would not break it entirely.
I am ridiculously in love right now. And one day, far far away from now, I'll be more in love - and have presents too. lol.
So that's all for my weekend. I'm smiling. REAL smiling. It's been awhile.
I still desperately need something resembling a real vacation, but now I feel a little better about waiting for it.
