What you see is what you get. If she likes you, it's obvious. If she doesn't, you'll know by her silence and facial expressions. Whatever emotion she feels, she expresses readily and with passion. She can be loud, obnoxious and damnably rude at any given moment. She can also be an incredibly loyal friend to the right people. There has only ever been two people she's expressed such devotion to and one of them is, from her perspective, out of her life forever. This pains her greatly but it is not something she will readily discuss with anyone. She is prone to pacing when she's upset, she practically dances when she's in a good mood and on the rare occasion when she's feeling quiet, she'll hold still.
Appearance;
Esme isn't very tall. Not in her opinion, anyway. She's also a bit on the thin side. This comes from two years as a street kid and she's sure it'll never go away. She's pale skinned, blue eyed. Yes, her hair is naturally black and yes, she does have wings growing from her shoulder blades. They're almost 4 feet in diameter, batlike and they don't work very well. She can glide, fly for short distances but other than that, they're not very effective.
As for style, she is very much so a fan of a pair of well broken in jeans and vintage t-shirts. She also tends to favor the goth rocker look on occasion. People have tried getting her into other styles and they've all failed. She is not a fan of clothing that won't last. If they tear easily, she doesn't want it. She favors a good pair of boots over sneakers, has her ears pierced several times and under her wings she has a pair of tattoo'd angel wings, just for the irony. She also has a tribal firefly tattoo'd on her lower right abdomen and no, she won't tell you the meaning behind it Sorry. Move along.
Powers;
Along with wings, she is also a Sonokinetic. Sonokinesis, also called Audiokinesis is the ability to mentally manipulate sound waves or to go beyond one’s current vocal ability, allowing one to manipulate his own voice overwhelming foes with deafening noise, stun them with tight-focus low-frequency sonic blasts, plunge them into a hypnotic trance, disorient them, nauseate them, or simply render them unconscious. One with this ability can also create sonic blast which strike with concussive force or perform Echolocation.
History (or, what Esme refuses to share with most people);
Her parents were religious nutcases who tried to have her wings surgically removed. The wings you see now aren't her original pair. The wings you see now grew in three days after the first pair were taken away and it was the most painful experience of her life. She won't tell you about how loudly she screamed when that happened, how many windows or eardrums she broke when her secondary mutation kicked in or how fast she ran to escape what she'd done. She won't tell you when she was 14 when that happened. She won't tell you that the first nice person she ran into was John and she won't talk about the two years she spent as a street kid with him. She won't tell you about the riot that separated the pair, she won't tell you about Emma finding her huddled in an alley, trying to hide from anti-mutant protesters. She refuses to tell anyone about her efforts to find John, the song she wrote about him or how it's still hard sleeping at night without him. That's none of your damn business unless she says it is.
As for the rest of her life, Esme is now one of Emma's Knights, willing to do whatever it takes to protect her. As it stands, however, Emma is now looking out for Esme after some uncomfortable occurrences with one Sebastian Shaw and Esme is now on her way to Africa.
