I have to say, most of the good shows don't last. These big corporations who do the shows and run the channels seem to think all anyone wants now is sex, 'reality' tv, and whatever else they can pull out of their piehole. Think shit like "Immoral female whores on Wisteria Lane aka Desperate Housewives'. That show only qualifies as 'porn lite', not 'drama'.
I miss, in order of preference:
Stargate SG-1 (okay, so the plot line had more destinations than the dialing program, but it was a good show with well fleshed-out characters)
The Pretender (with Michael T Weiss and Andrea Parker)- good show. He was a different profession every episode. Who is Jared? They never did answer the question. The last movie left us with more questions, and, despite it getting into the supernatural/manipulated genetics realm, I was really looking forward to the next movie which was supposed to explain everything, but the movie never got made.
Farscape-- one of my all-time top favorites. Totally original. Many opportunities for spin-offs or continuations. Hear that, Sci-Fi channel?
J.A.G.-- I miss watching the dynamics between Harm and Mac and the rest of the crew. They were supposed to do another season, but when the actors showed up to work they were told the show had been cancelled.
All good shows cancelled to make way for crap like Desperate Housewives, where the goal is to portray women as whores, especially American wives. Where are the feminists when they could do some good?
I've pretty much quit watching TV. There's nothing on worth watching. Except occasionally I'll watch the British comedies on the local public broadcast station on Saturday nights.
