The Merchant and The Raven

I remembered these posts I created about some strange beings and parallel universes, and I realized I never went any further than that, which is a shame. I had a plan. But now I forgot that plan. However, I read over those posts and decided I could always create a new plan using those posts as a basis and my own creativity, of which I doubt I have much. In any case, here it goes:

It seems that I've been taken under the influence of a one called the Merchant. He is an agent of the man and can slip in between realities. He is called the Merchant for a reason: he makes deals with people and in order to reach the largest market possible, he is able to slip between these realities. However, the deals he makes aren't exactly what we think of as an exchange. He doesn't bargain for material goods. Instead, he obtains money from the man and uses it to buy any sort of baggage someone might carry. Are you depressed? Do you hold despair? Grief? Desires? Sins? The Merchant buys all these from you, and he collects these to take to the man. Interestingly enough, he also deals with the ne'er doers. What he does with these ne'er doers is unknown, but from what I can gather, he takes from them all they have at any given moment. Whatever they could have had, he takes, giving money in return. Why he gives money is another mystery, since they won't ever use it. The Merchant takes many forms, dons many masks, wears many outfits. You can never tell who is the Merchant until he approaches you, and even then you aren't sure who he is. Only after the transaction is completed do you know. And even then you don't quite know who he is. Or if he's even a he. What you do know is that once you have created a deal with the Merchant, for some inexplicable reason, you can't wait for the next visit. You are drawn towards more encounters with the Merchant. You have an urge to cause more damage in order to trade with the Merchant. You want to create your own self-hurt, gather it up, and sell it once again. There is only one Merchant at any one moment in time, but the Merchant is never the same. The Merchant takes in one follower, who is meant to become the next Merchant, and is taken in to be under the tutelage of both the current Merchant and the man. When the new Merchant is ready, he replaces the old Merchant. No one knows what happens to the old Merchant. He simply disappears.

Now enough of the Merchant. There is yet another one I have encountered during my period of silence, but this time in my dreams as well as reality. He is known as the Raven. Who is the Raven? He isn't an actual raven, of course. No one knows how he exists, how he operates, where he came from, what he came from, nothing. No one even knows what his purpose is, but everyone is sure that even he doesn't know what he's meant to do. He travels from plane to plane, from one dimension to the next, to different realities. He follows no rules, listens to no one, and decides all things on his own. He operates in his own self-interest as well as in the interest of others. Everything he does has a purpose, yet no direction. He deceives, is deceived; tricks, gets tricked. He does all at once, and none at all; he is ageless. He is not, however, an all powerful god. His knowledge is limited, as are his abilities. Again, much like the Merchant, one is never sure who the Raven is. He could be anyone at any given moment. However, the two are not the same being; rather, you can almost see them as opposing forces yet allies. The Raven can bring people to the Merchant, but can also steal what the weight the Merchant buys and hide it. He can draw people away from being under the spell of the Merchant, but can also enhance the feelings that they harbor after they've dealt with the Merchant. If there is anything you should remember when dealing with the Raven, know this: he always seeks the truth, tells the truth, and will do what he can to protect the Truth.
