Wow, this effect has a lovely result. I especially like the first one with the blending and then the scetch-effect. Gorgeous.!! *saving* Thanks for sharing these and I hope to see more arts in this style :D

Thank you very much! It would be nice if every experiment turned out that way... LOL! I'm pretty sure I'll be making more in that style, as I'm still too lazy to pick up a real pencil and actually draw the boys' portraits.... =o)

Sketch tutorial in Photoshop lady__vaako July 23 2006, 21:59:04 UTC
Thank you very much! Here's a link for a tutorial on how to do it:
http://photoshopsupport.com/tutorials/jennifer/photo-to-sketch.html

You can play around with the settings of the Gaussian Blur filter, depending on how pale or dark you want the finished product to be. Also, what I've just discovered by doing the Dean sketch is that once you're done with the steps described in the tutorial, you can add a pencil effect by applying the Angled Strokes filter (Filter/Brush Strokes/Angled Strokes. Again, you can play with the settings to get the effect you like most. If you ever decide to use this tutorial, I would love to see the result. =o)
