RECONNECTED!!

Hehe - stupid Tardis was full of adware so the network wouldn't log me on. Finally got rid of it all, so here I am!

I was really nervous when I arrived on Saturday - I was met by Laura, who's next door, as soon as I arrived (I think I woke her up!) and then introduced to Georgie (girl :)). Then it went slightly pear-shaped, cos the kitchen was really intimidating - met Tom, Tash and Hannah there, before retreating to my room to unpack. That took about two or so hours just to get the clothes sorted and put away before starting on stationary, books, DVDs, videos etc etc. And of course the mess that is the Tardis and its entourage of machinary. (Aside: couldn't find the network card. Took it to the IT department, they couldn't find it either, told me to buy another one on Monday. Got it back upstairs and discovered the port behind a damn sticker!)

Finally asked Laura's advice before venturing into the kitchen - met Kerry (boy) and Lauren, unpacked all my stuff and got talking to Hannah and Georgie. Only one person left to meet in my flat - Clark, and I should see him tomorrow. Hannah and I ventured down to the Uni Bar, but stopped to catch the end of X Factor and play some Spongeball (random game we made up involving a snooker table), which is where I met Simon and Dave. We spent two hours talking about science fiction, as Simon is a huge Stargate fan. Finally made it to the bar (and I am teetotal for the moment, fyi) and persuaded Hannah to join in with the disco. Ended up doing the Macarena, so it was almost exactly like a convention - good memories, helsinkibaby!

Left at closing - grabbed Simon's copy of Kill Bill 2 and the two of us watched that in my room. We talked over it though - artistically pleasing, but lacking substance. Bed at 4am.

Woke at 8.30am on Sunday - not impressed with my body clock. Felt dreadfully sick, but soldiered on through breakfast and lunch. Went into Cardiff proper with Hannah and Simon at 1pm - spent three hours shopping, though I didn't buy a thing! I was going to get 'Empire Records' for £5.99 but they had sold out (sorry, helsinkibaby, I did try) and 'Lawrence of Arabia' was too expensive for my student budget (apologies, cimmerianwillow!).

And then there was Forbidden Planet. For its reputation, the shop is actually quite small. I spent most of my time there reading the latest Nightwing comics, so didn't even venture onto the top floor. A treat for another time!

Tonight I went to Uni Bar again (as I have lectures tomorrow :() - Simon and I played Connect 4, before we played a game of snooker when Hannah got tired and left, met up with Dave and went and watched 'Appleseed' in his room. Random anime thing, but quite cool - the scenery was fantastic and the 'shotwork' too, but the clinging to anime-style figures lets it down, I feel.

Now I really must go to bed, but I thought I'd better let you know how I was getting on!
