DC Comics, I hate your guts
So, I was wasting my life away on TV Tropes, when I found this:
LIAN! How could the cold heartless bastards kill LIAN?! What the Hell did she ever do to anyone, apart from be wonderful and adorable and totally the child of everyone who Roy ever brought round for tea??
And the worse part? They did it to hurt OLLIE! Who cares about Ollie? Ollie is a bastard. What about ROY? Y'know, the poor wrecked boy who became a drug user because Ollie IGNORED him? The one who's now AN ARCHER WITHOUT AN ARM? And, oh, just for kicks, might pick up his DRUG HABIT because his DAUGHTER JUST DIED???
The thing is that I have never actually read a single comic with Roy and Lian in it. I know about them because DCU is a big incestuous verse that tempts you in via Batman/Robin, and then leaves you reading Roy/Jason with a side of Connor/Kyle and thinking this a well-adjusted world. BECAUSE LITTLE GIRLS DON'T GET KILLED BY BAD GUYS!
I don't care how "edgy" Didio thinks he's being with this crap, but I was tempted for half a second to start buying comics again. I thought 'hey, I'd buy into a JLI reunion if there's a vague hope of Ted' but NO!
