SPN 4x18
I never do this for SPN, but my Coven hasn't watched it yet AND I NEED TO SPIEL!
Oh. My. Life. I thought this was another crack episode. I thought we were getting another crazy episode of meta, which looked like a 100th episode a la Stargate.
We got so much more than that.
I may have had a bit of a chuckle at the Dean/Sam shippers' expense. I'm sorry guys, but it was a little funny.
Keegan Connor Tracey as a fangirl makes me LOL slightly, as I've written Jake 2.0 fic with Diane. My only little bit of meta squee. And all the...comments about crying and Sam's "brooding shoulders". Too awesome, show. You really did have a laugh at yourself.
And then we got Surprise!Cas!! I told clearillusion that this episode looked Cas-free and boy, was I wrong. We got Funny!Cas and Sneaky!Cas and So-Gonna-Fall!Cas, as well as our usual I-Love-Dean!Cas. And we even got Surprise!Zachariah at the end there!
Dean praying broke something inside me, it really did. That moment means something. He prayed for a miracle and he got Castiel. Beautiful.
I want to know what Chuck saw. I loved Chuck, and I love how he led Sam to explain himself a little. And I love how Dean KNEW EVERYTHING ALREADY. Cas may have told him about the Alistair pwnage, but he knew about Ruby and the practising, though neither of them know about the demon blood just yet.
It's kinda strange that Dean & Cas are almost the team now, with Sam becoming an outsider. I wonder where they'll take that.
I have so much love for this show, and I've only watched about ten episodes in full. Yeesh
[On a personal note, 'Gospel of Winchesters' squicks me a little, but then this show is bound to squick me on a religious level wherever it goes with this plot. However, I'm happy to let it slide for the time being]
