So, I just spent forty-five minutes on the phone with
kirke_novak, proving once again that when fangirls start talking, they simply can't shut up! We are maniacs!
Now, for Booster Gold #10:
I wailed. Repeatedly.
That said, I hadn't realised the cover was going to have those big bubbles on with 'who kills him? no, really, who is it?'. At which point I guessed it would either be Ted or Booster. :'(
Best line? Easily "All I wanted was for us to be together again, Ted". How is that not a declaration of true love? I mean, really.
And then I am totally jumping on the NOT DEAD! NOT DEAD! bandwagon.
That said, I always had this theory before BG even started, that all you had to do was go in at precisely the right moment, "freeze" time and just pull him out, leaving the bloodied goggles and doing whatever-it-was that triggered the Big Bad Bat into finding out everything.
Because I don't remember Ted sending Bruce a message, so it must purely be the goggles. So, SO EASY!
I await his return, but for now, I'm more than a little teary.
(though, generally speaking, this series is still AWESOME!)
Also:
1) Rip thinks that Booster trained the greatest of all Time Masters - Rip himself? Or Rip's mentor? I think Rip is Booster's son.
2) Chalkboard: Midnight&Hearts is a big ref to 'Batman: Gotham After Midnight' but what mask? Who's Red Herring? And Azrael is returning? Or are these all AUs, because the board is in an AU and the Batman series is out of continuity, I think.
3) Skeets is a boostle shipper, obviously.
4) Ted is so protective of Booster! Aww, I love them.
5) MR MIND! And then Ted squishes him - ha! (and that's another "preview panel" down)
6) When Ted says "I have to!", it is the exact same panel setup as "Rot in Hell, Max", including broken goggles. :(
7) Black Beetle is a mystery, isn't it? Something to do with Jaime and a woman - Traci, Milagro? Who knows?
Booster Gold is sooooo good!
