SGA 4x4: Doppelganger
Still in uber catch-up mode - mostly because I'm meant to be revising!
They killed Kate?! They really killed Kate! I just thought it was another dream, and then she's dead! And when Rodney died, I knew they had to reset it - but Kate stayed dead! *is stunned*
When I saw the title, I thought we'd see lots of Johns running around Atlantis, or a false team returning (in the spirit of many such SG-1 episodes) but instead we had nightmare!John - and doesn't he do evil well?
I love what people's nightmares say about them - Teyla's involves a meal with John (*snerk*), being ridiculed and then hearing the Darts take her father. Ronon's features an empty city, just like Sateda. Jennifer (and I had to look that up!) has an Alien thing, but basically someone dies under her care. Of course, I would've loved Rodney's to involve Carson in some way, but instead we get the Moby Dick nightmare (plus a random clown).
I don't like the heavy-handed references to Elizabeth - especially if they're made by Sam. Also, I hate the Stargate references. Seriously, we get it already - Sam has ten years of history, she must constantly reference it and be stern and militaristic. I hate that we now have the Sam/Rodney dynamic of Stargate, which means we practically have the Rodney of Stargate. That sucks beyond belief.
Also, they can't just have them all sit round a table and pretend it's anything like it was with Elizabeth and Carson. They just can't. Not that I don't like Jennifer - she's a lovely character, and I adore Jewel, but this is a Daniel & Jonas situation all over again. No matter what you do, Jennifer will never be Carson.
However, I got good vibes from her with John, Ronon and Sam. Seeing as I already have Atlantis ships for John and Ronon, we will have to start Jennifer/Sam shipping. Oh, the hardship.
Speaking of ships, last episode's Sam/Teal'c was FANTASTIC! If I can't have Sam/Daniel, I will have Sam/Teal'c!
Can't wait for Carson to turn up. And Elizabeth to return.
ETA: And if they start that John/Teyla nonsense again, I will break heads.
