Huw and I watched both films yesterday. Wow, that was crazy!

The second film is kinda awful. I was very irritated with MJ for putting up with Peter's rubbish of oh-I'm-in-love-with-you-no-I'm-not-who-am-I-?. Then again, she was extremely demanding.

Harry finding out Peter was Spiderman was brilliant. It was exactly the reaction I wanted - the horror, not knowing what to do. Perfect.

As Huw pointed out, Spiderman whipping off his mask all over the place isn't doing anything for his anonymity. I'm surprised the whole of NYC doesn't know who he is by now.

The third film was actually very good. I'd heard bad things. I'd heard that it tried to do too much et cetera. But, the more I think about it, the more I realise that it needed all three villains. Venom is to make Peter eeeevil, and Sandman is there to fuel that rage, as is Eddie.

Harry's there to be adorable, largely. To go mad and evil, to get knocked on the head (genius!), be lovely all over again, then go mad again and "bribe" away MJ (which fuels the second, more drastic evil/emo/arrogant Peter), be pleaded with for help and have the truth confirmed by cool butler dude (he's so Alfred!) before dashing off to save the day.

In short, I love Harry. So, of course, they had to kill him off. Just as he saved Peter not once, but twice, so we get the gorgeous 'You came!' from Peter and other flirting. Let's put it this way - I didn't say a word about slash in this film until Huw started going 'Oh, the gay. Again.' It must be obvious if he's seeing it.

I don't want Harry to be dead. So, I will go and find slash *nods head*. The other thing that was slightly odd was the three endings. Harry death scene and sunrise. Funeral. MJ and Peter in bar. I understand why they needed them all - funeral, so that the next gen of actors isn't stuck with it in the fourth film, and the bar to resolve the MJ/Peter storyline, but it seemed a little excessive. Only LOTR has more endings!

Still, all-in-all, very good. I was pleased.
