Year Meme (stolen from myself)
Last year, helsinkibaby did a meme about the year, which I stole. With the full realisation that this year was incredibly boring for me, I'm going to to it again.
(sorry, OYL = comics joke. Literally.)
1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before? Wrote a novel.
2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I think my only resolution was to keep Huw, and that's going well so far...
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Yes, my minister's wife, Helen. Aiddan is beautiful.
4. Did anyone close to you die? No.
5. What countries did you visit? England and Wales, back and forth, back and forth :(
6. Did you have any crushes? Nope. Passing fancies, like 'ooh, fit guy!', but no crushes.
7. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006? Internal peace. It's been elusive so far.
8. What dates from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? 12th January - "I love you". 19th February - Prophesied in church. 18th March - Baptised in the Spirit. 24th August - Les Miserables. 4th November - Wales v Australia. 24th October - (successful) Nose piercing. 24th November - One Year Anniversary.
9. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Probably sticking with my boyfriend for a year! (Even over the Primary MB passing)
10. What is your biggest failing for 2006? Not passing my degree as well as I could have.
11. Did you suffer illness or injury? Glandular Fever. Exacerbation of asthma *grumbles*
12. What was the best thing you bought? Holiday to Isle of Wight. Rugby tickets.
13. Whose behavior merited celebration? The exam board awarding me that Merit. Oh yeah.
14. Whose behavior made you appalled and disgusted? My grandparents. But then, what's new?
15. Where did most of your money go? Huw. :p
16. What did you get really, really excited about? Isle of Wight, Antigua :( , Wales v Australia, Nose piercing, Anniversary

18. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? Happier.
b) thinner or fatter? Fatter. :s
c) richer or poorer? Poorer, oh so much poorer.
19. What do you wish you'd done more of? Writing, Reading, Sleeping, Nothing (same as last year) plus spending more time with Huw.
20. What do you wish you'd done less of? Being ill. Being upset. Crying.
21. How will you be spending New Year's Eve? At Dave's house/The Courtenay with friends.
22. Did you fall in love in 2006? Yep. *beams*
23. How many one-night stands? None.
24. What was your favorite TV program? Torchwood has it, just over Stargate Atlantis
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? No.
26. What was the best book you read? ...have I read any books? *thinks* 'Of Marriageable Age' by Sharon Maas. It cost me £2 from a campsite, but it was beautiful. I'd highly recommend it.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery? Snow Patrol. I wasn't all that keen on them last year, but they've grown on me. Am also liking The Divine Comedy and the Stereophonics more.
28. What did you want and get? My Primary MB pass! My one year anniversary.
29. What did you want and not get? Keeping in touch with people. My holiday in Antigua. *pout*
30. What was your favorite film of this year? I keep having to think what actually came out this year! (Am still thinking in terms...) V for Vendetta! I really need to buy that film!
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? I think I went out for dinner with Huw for my actualy birthday, then my parents came up at the weekend and took my friends out for Italian. I was 19.
32.What one thing would have made your year measurably more satisfying? Holiday in Antigua. We really needed that break.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006? Jeans and t-shirt - it'll never go out of style.
34. What kept you sane? Friends, boyfriend, livejournal. :)
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Well, my Con Crush was Agent Cutie Pie (aka Peter Flemming) but I like the lovely Gareth David-Lloyd (Ianto Jones in Torchwood) may have it
36. What political issue stirred you the most? The smoking ban! The smoking ban! I'm so excited!
37. Who did you miss? Huw, for all the time we were apart. My parents a little, usually just before holidays.
38. Who was the best new person you met? Probably James Powell, who is a lovely guy on my course and who made French classes that much more fun.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2006. With the best will in the world, you cannot cure depression just by hugging people and hoping it goes away. Unfortunately.
