Angelo had found out soon after they became friends that the best way to calm Roger down quickly was, quite simply, to slap him. That, of course, normally resulted in a comment from Roger about how Angelo ‘hit like a girl’, which always resulted in Angelo’s younger sister María punching Roger in the arm. Hard. At which point Angelo would laugh until Roger pointed out that María hit harder than Angelo did. That normally resulted in a fistfight-which-wasn’t-really-a-fight, but they ended up with bruises anyway.
There was more laughter than bruises, though, in the end, and that was what mattered. Angelo and Roger would always be friends, anyway.
