(no subject)
With my inability to sleep I decided to release a large update, something to the public that anyone can read...been a while, a good long while since I've done that.
First up; Hallowe'en! It was a great weekend, and a fun birthday. Good party that lasted 'til about 3am, the next day we had some general fun and really just had a relaxing time. I couldn't have asked for better. The costume I wanted to make still sits in my closet, half finished...y'know...you really lose the motivation to work on a good cosplay when you don't have a sewing machine.
Second up; AC^3, the anime convention in Ottawa. One of my friends, Sha, was part of the organizing committee and on Saturday, November 20th, Rob and I trucked down there for some good fun. I've got to give props to them, they have pretty badges (it was like...a toe tag, with a pretty picture... like++!). We ended up doing what we do best; being nerds! Entire con of socializing and fun, and we played RPG's and games with others until 2am :P We got to see the dance and it looked really swanky, and stayed until about 5am to watch some...interesting...anime. (No, not that kind, ya damn perverts.)
Job status! Since early August I've been full time Nightcrew with Staples. It's been a long ride and quite a bit of bodily damage to go nights-days at the blink of an eye...but as of 2 days ago, I left that job.(hence why i'm posting at 6:41am...still working to a noon-4am schedule) I'm unemployed until Christmas where I pick up work again around the 15th of January. Now the reason I'm doing this is really obvious..
This semester I've been toying with the idea of leaving Aerospace Engineering...Carleton has given me unneccesary trouble and, albeit all passing grades have been decent to good..I bombed some finals and have run into problems with the faculty...Y'know...pick a department, any department and I'd be in good standing, in fact I was...but Engineering has problems at Carleton. So I've decided to just up and say fuck you to everyone in the registration offices there. I'm in the process of heading home and taking up Mechanical Engineering at University of Manitoba...the other accredited program I originally applied to in the process of getting a Robotics Engineering degree. I'm adding 1 maybe two more years onto my studies, and that decision hurt me the most of all, to know that I waste so much more of my life...but it's on school, and in my mind that's very much a worthy approach. That and the whole going home 4 years of studies there is still cheaper than one here all told *shrug* ;p
Anyone want to come to Winnipeg? I think the very real fact that's hitting home is that I'll miss everyone here, alot of the reason I've stayed so long is because I do like Ottawa and many people in it. I've had problems, so have others, many of us have formed the wierdest friendships possible...I'll be back next year to visit, everyone knows I whore msn (online 24/7) and i'll be reregistering a Skype account, hopefully pick up that wicked little skype phone (http://www.thinkgeek.com/computing/avcards/7cf5/ very nifty.).
Now that work is finished until I leave, tentatively 17th-20th, but still not sure...it's based on when mah pa can swing by with his truck out here and we can haul my junk home, I'll be around to see people daily, have some good times, and hopefully make some more memories...need alcomahol for a few big bashes too! *evil laugh*
