time for an update

Ok, well it has been awhile since I have done an "actual update" and deem it a necessary time to update. Well so much happened over the past week and a half I just want to get it out. Not just for my sake, but for some of my friends (my friends being Kolt Green, that's about it, haha. Not too many are on LJ) because I haven't had the chance to ( Read more... )

Yeah, I mean, the sound guys were nice enough, but the sound glitches were very... Well... basic. An event of that size really shouldn't be having those types of problems. And the man running the soundboard didn't seem very experienced at it.

Again, great guys, didn't hesitate to listen to my advice on how to mix the band, and were very prompt about fixing their errors... But, overall, they just seemed a tad inexperienced.

aah ok! yea I wasn't even aware there was a guy working the entire soundboard...I thought Robin (their band manager) would be working it, but guess it was one of those were they have a so-called "experienced" guy working it

Nah, Robin doesn't mess with anything sound related. And, to be technical, I think they recently adopted me as their 'official' sound guy, haha.

Almost every venue has an 'in house' sound guy. Almost evey 'in house' sound guy doesn't know what they're doing. At least, of all the ones I've come across... Occasionally someone will actually know (ie: the guy at the "Around the Corner" bar in the west end knows what he's doing).

aaha yes very true! i can see your point.....u may have certain presets and whatnot that you want down to a "T" and the house guy might be like "what??". but yes i gotcha there! congrats on your sound guy position haha!
