Day 3
Christian took me on a tour through Bergen today. It’s a really beautiful town. I’ll make sure to get some good photos before I go.
We saw one of the towers that used to defend Bergen back in the days, and a church with a cannonball stuck in its façade. And there are tiny little alleys in the back of everything, with extra rooms attached to the walls. Looks kind of like where Sen stays in Spirited Away. And I’m pretty sure that Tolkien got the idea for the Misty Mountains from Bergen, as there’s often mist rising from the mountains here, as if the mountain itself would be on fire.
After the tour we sat down at a café called Lille Zachen and had tea and coffee, meeting up with a friend of Christian’s called Magnus, nicknamed Pingo. After that, we went climbing. I wasn’t too impressed by the walls and the routes, but I got a nice little work-out which my body really needed!
