Tuesday was the 50th anniversary of the first manned spaceflight. For some reason it makes me so sad to think of. I don't know, maybe it's because going on a rocketship is one of those Big Childhood Dreams that could be realised. No one seems to be working on making Jurassic Park a reality so we're never going to see dinosaurs (what's up with that ( Read more... )

*smirk* Taking LSD to make sense of science? Sounds like an interesting plan. XD And I totally love the message from the computer program. That's really cool. You should have screenshot it. XD

The mind needs to bend over backwards to understand astrophysics. LSD could only help! (I kid, I kid.)

I'll be honest, the message creeped me out. It's like a computerised way of saying 'All hope is lost'. If something is wrong BECAUSE nothing's wrong ... ???

D: at the nails thing. *shudder* Now I know for sure I'll never go into space!

I started Twin Spica but got too busy and distracted to finish even the first chapter. It's an adorable sobfest, right? *notes*

If the damn things are so powerful they even suck in light, what is going on in there to make it shoot out jets a million light years long?

Enma?

For serious. They better have sorted that little issue out by the time the apocalypse comes and we all have to jet into space.

Yes, Twin Spica is a totally adorable sobfest. Sometimes I think it ought to feel too heavy-handed, but even then I'm going for the tissues.

ASIDE from Enma. XD I'm giving Amano a break from now on when it comes to physics. The whole field of study seems to teeter on the brink of not knowing what's going on, ever.

Most people don't though. Become astronauts, I mean; even ones who do all these things, probably? :(
True, but it still feels more like a reachable dream than a lot of others. Especially the dinosaurs. Although I think I've heard that people were trying to breed mammoths using frozen DNA, and implanting elephants with embryos...

That thing about the nails, urg. Here goes my desire for space vacations, I guess...
At least it gives an upside for not making it into space!

I am still waiting for the black holes to make sense. Maybe I should just read some Stephen Hawking like a sensible person.

That error message. Maybe they mean that there is nothing left, not even an error, this very message doesn't actually exist! :/
That's why that message is creepy. The only way it could get weirder is if it straight-up said "ERROR You will die in seven days."
