fannish5's question for this week hasn't been posted, but I had last week's answers lying around so...
Five questions you would like to ask authors or creators of source material in your fandom(s).
1. Megan Whalen Turner: Will the next book be called What could I do to ensure the next book is called A Conspiracy of Queens? Or, you know, similar. So long as 'queens' is in the title.
2. Amano Akira: What was the editorial involvement like in the Future Arc? (The politest way I can think of to ask 'Why did that turn into a hot mess?' I have conspiracy theories.)
3. Amano Akira: And did you read Ouran High School Host Club and decide, "This could be about the mafia SORT OF. That would be awesome!" Sure, the set-up of straight man surrounded by weirdos is an established one, but it's not just that Tsuna and Haruhi occupy similar positions. Gokudera is basically Very Angry Tamaki, Mori and Yamamoto share big similarities, and both series have a really gleeful way of flinging fanservice about.
4. Terry Pratchett: So, an on-page appearance by B. S. Johnson in a Discworld book! Wouldn't that be great? Right? Just a thought. I'll leave it with you.
5. Asking Susanna Clarkson and Hiromu Arakawa about Stephen Black's and Scar's names - "What was the real one?" and "So what did he choose now?" respectively - would be missing the point in a spectacular fashion. I'd still really really like to know Scar's new name. Probably I should just look for Scar + Miles in Ishbal fic. But hmm, maybe it would be more interesting to know what Stephen Black thought about the issue of his real name.
