Recent-ish things. Past month and a bit

- People finally figured out why all the bees were bloody going and dying. Well, sort of. As answers go "It's an illness and a fungus! But we don't know how" is not particularly conclusive.
- My new fandoms that sort-of or don't-really exist. Webcomics are my kryptonite:

• (NSFW! All of this, NSFW!) Sometimes Oglaf is genuinely touching or adorable. Really, truly it shouldn't be, I mean at one point there is vagina-faced spider sex, but the bizarreness stuns me into complacency and then the sweet bits strike when I'm down. ...I totally want (to write??) Kronar and the Son of Kronar bonding fic. /NSFW-ness ... mostly
• Go Fish and the worst OTP, the worst, the worst.

- haha, I would've been unemployed starting last month, but my contract was extended. Every so often I think: WOO, I'M SO GLAD NOT TO BE UNEMPLOYED that's a good feeling. Also re:a post I made a while ago, Dad's good buddy is not coming to work in my office! He does still have his old job, though, so that's okay.
- Skinny jeans are the devil.
- The guy at work I have a crush on (it's not going beyond that; he's like 10 years older than me) mentioned that he used to work on ships, which combined with the polite, intelligent, handsome, funny, motorbiking qualities seems so 'romantic hero' that I'm starting to think somebody made him up!
- Puffins look ridiculous flying and adorable.
- Sister's moving into her own flat as she feels it's about time to do so. I keep thinking of all the annoying bullshit she does and how much I'm going to miss it!
- Happened to think of a post thelovemafia linked about dragon-on-human rape in Chinese folklore and then remembered, to my horror, The Flight of Dragons by Peter Dickinson. It's a book about how draconic animals could in theory have existed (and why no fossil evidence remains), based on the various stories told about them. The story mentioned in the post above has strangely realistic details about the results of said dragon-on-human action, so... I'm not sold on the existence of dragons but nonetheless my face was stuck on a severe version of :< for some time.
- Harry Potter and the Midlife Crisis: JK Rowling's going "yeah so I got three more books in me maybe". I'm surprised there's nothing on Fandom Wank, on principle. I say 'no thanks', but new books could be nice if they were ... set around anything but Harry, because his arc is done. Maurauders, or more on the rest of the wizarding world (a story set at Durmstrang or Beauxbatons? Naw, she'd never.) could be fun.
- Speaking of. The Economist's richest self-made women. Oprah and JK Rowling are so low! It must be glamour that gave me the impression they're on top of the heap. It's staggering to think of the income of those who rank higher.
