just got back from mediation. I got pretty much everything I wanted. I went in with the plan my dad and I worked out where I went in and told him that as far as I'm concerned the best thing he can do for his daughter right now is to just leave her life for good. And he burst out into tears and cried and wanted to leave, but the mediator calmed him down. And then he agreed he's not going to be late again and he's going to start parenting classes or family counseling and for the next 3 months he only gets her every other weekend and then we'll meet with the mediator again.
the mediator was not the woman I talked to on the phone. it was a man who did a lot of staring at my chest which gave me a bit of a complex cause I was worrying that my shirt had fallen open or something. Oh well, I got all that could be expected considering I can't legally force him to fall off the face of the earth and he's not willing to do that on his own. I think I'd like to celebrate the return of my weekends by getting sloppy drunk.
