Watching the A&E series

I finally started watching the A&E miniseries of The Scarlet Pimpernel. So far I've only finished the first tape. Hmm, it was an okay movie. I still have yet to find a film version of Chauvelin that I truly like... Am I just too picky when it comes to movie portrayals of that character? That's true, we are all entitled, I just couldn't ... quite ... process ... what you were saying! I thought, 'the tailor? Planchet? Hang on!' ;)

Now, my opinion is that Anthony Green, who played Sir Andrew, is gorgeous, and was of just the right height, build and appearance to play Percy, but hey ho.

Have you seen Gerard Murphy in the 1998 BBC/A+E production of Vanity Fair? I absolutely adore the series, and, although he is still disturbing, he is perfectly cast as the predatory Lord Steyne in this. Why the two companies couldn't get The Scarlet Pimpernel right is another matter ...
