[Brightening up. She smiles.] Hi, Jack! Is everything okay?

No. I can't stop feeling like I need to have people for these quadrant things. But I've never really liked anyone here that way.

[demiurgos_girl]

Me neither. Although I think I could have a moirail. I don't know.

[kindly_done]

I can think of at least three people. I don't understand why I'm supposed to choose just one.

Same here. You're one of them. If we don't settle on that during the event, well... I just want you to know, for the record.

Yeah. It's the same, for me.

I don't think I'm going to choose just one. It's not up to the mansion, it's up to me.

Yeah. [And that's oddly relieving. Knowing that she could have a moirail- maybe if they'd been born trolls instead- was enough to soothe (though not fully relieve) her need to find one.]

[With that rising feeling, she smiles more.] That's a good way of putting it.

[Huh. Elaine shuffles her feet uneasily, her smile fading.]

Yeah. But I've never really...I don't really know anything about all that.

You should read more magazines. [She grins awkwardly. Let's admit it: most of Elaine's first impression of love comes from listening to the spice girls and reading her best friend's banned magazines. She knows it's silly though, and she's seen real love work- and looked forward to the day she found it.]

I could-... I've never really felt that way, too.

I don't think I get that kind of magazine. Maybe you could get one out of the closet for me.

[Laughs.] Maybe I could. Or the vendors might have one. They're a little bit girly though, like fashion or teen magazines.
