[The thought is too difficult to put into words, though she stumbles through it haltingly, the idea deep enough that she doesn't want to let it go.] It's the... price of things. Freedom of movement is fine. Easy. But even then you give up security for it. Other freedoms cost more.
You can look at things you do and you are, and ask yourself, how much freedom is this worth giving up for?

Everything comes at a price. Freedom is one of them. But everything should also be in moderation too.

I know. But... sometime's it's... I didn't have to die, you know. [And suddenly this is all coming out in a rush.] I could have let Mhairi die. If I did, I would have gotten my powers back, and I could have fought my mirror off, probably. But Mhairi was... mine. I couldn't let it die.
And I died for it instead.
