New Year - 2011

Happy New Year, everyone! :)

Spent my New Year's Eve in the presence of two of my best friends. They arrived around 6pm, we ate Chinese for dinner, followed by a crapton of junk food, drank sparkling apple-grape cider (frickin' yum), and watched some youtube videos and then ten episodes of Sailor Moon Stars, interrupted only by the ball drop (...) at midnight. They went home at 2am. It was low-key and very fun, and I'm very grateful to the both of them for keeping me company all night. ♥

I ought to do some sort of retrospective post or something but quite frankly I don't feel like it. XD; Today has been a very lazy day. Sometimes you just need one of those.

I keep seeing it pop up places that people are thinking back over the last DECADE. I can't remember everything I did within the last ten minutes, never mind break it down into ten years. I have absolutely no concept of the passage of time, honestly. It's really bizarre. Like, I certainly remember all sorts of things that have happened in the past, but I don't know how old I was exactly, or what year it was when they happened.

Anyway, I'd rather think about the present/future right now. I spend too much of my time as it is fixated on crap I should or shouldn't have done. Can't change it. Yeah, the past shaped who I am today, but what I'm doing right now will shape who I am tomorrow. Ooh, that sounded pretty philosophical... /sniped

Unfortunately, I'm drawing a big ol' blank as far as my future goes. It's probably going to go the way it's always gone - I'm going to wing it. I have no goals except "try to be less miserable all the time". That's always a good plan, I think. Not going to do New Year's resolutions this year because I failed at all five of the ones I made last year, so to hell with it. X(

Which leaves the present. Presently, I'm going to keep one eye on the megamind_movie comm and the other on either Ragnarok or Final Fantasy 6, whichever I decide on. I think I'll flip a coin.

ETA: Almost forgot! I wanted to share this - Thanks to obabscribbler's own New Year's post, I have discovered the wonderful thing that is Rob Costlow's "Woods of Chaos" album. Gorgeous piano music. I'm in love. ♥ Thanks Scribbler!

life, i think too much, new year
