Summary: When Dean bashes Gordon's head in with the nearest kitchen utensil (a frying pan of all things) he's not nearly prepared for the consequences he unleashes on his family and now he has to contend with three (smoking hot) FBI agents and a family curse intent on ripping his and his brother's hearts out.

A/N: I'm still working on the artwork that should have finished ages ago. The letters and the postcards will be uploaded onto my Livejournal account once they're done. Until then here is chapter one! Yes it's a huge freaking chapter...yes the other chapters are a similar length...See I really did try and kill myself with Nanowrimo last year!

Anywhooo...enjoy and please review and tell me how I did!

Practical Magic | Chapter One - Part One |

[Prologue]

"Witch, Witch, You're a Witch!" The children chanted on repeat. Dean heard them all the way from Bobby's garage as he worked on his baby, a beautiful sleek 1967 Chevy Impala. Dean cursed as he threw the oil covered rag he'd been using in the engine over his shoulder and raced down the gravel packed lane to his brothers.

He arrived just as things turned ugly. Dirk, the local bully, pushed Sam to the ground. The fifteen year old pushed his hands out in front of him to break his fall. Dean saw the blood on the gravel and pushed himself to run faster as Dirk turned to Adam next. The eight year old just froze in front of the older and bigger boy as he clutched his and Sam's book bags to his chest like he used to clutch Uni, the Unicorn.

"Hey! FUCK OFF YOU BRATS!" Dean yelled as he rushed onto the scene. The kids screamed and scattered in different directions as the nineteen year old skidded to a stop near Sam. Adam sniffled slightly as he helped Sam to his feet and Dean glared at the retreating forms of their childhood bullies. "Assholes!"

"It's fine Dean." Sam murmured as he brushed gravel and blood on his jeans. Dean wanted to yell that it wasn't fine AT ALL. But he resisted when he saw his little brothers tear filled eyes and slightly shaky frames. Dean sighed.

"Come on. Let's get you cleaned up." Dean said as he grabbed both his brothers around their waists and hoisted them up so they clung to his sides as he carried them home.

It was the same routine every day. Had been since Dean, Sam and Adam had marched down the gravel driveway to their Uncle Bobby and Aunt Ellen with big suitcases clutched tightly in their hands. The Singer's and the Winchester's were different. They were Warlocks and Witches. And totally not welcome in the town's idyllic picturesque daily life. They were a stain as far as the local townsfolk were concerned. Didn't matter that Cain Winchester was the founder of this tranquil little island home.

So the local woman and men sneered and crossed the street to avoid them, the children used a completely unimaginative chant to tease them and they existed solely on the outside of society.

But they had each other.

Dean chanted that particular fact in his head as he listened to Adam sniffling in the corner as Sam whined and complained about the use of alcohol on his wounds and how it was akin to child abuse. Dean gritted his teeth and may have added a little extra alcohol to clean the wounds just to make himself feel a bit better.

"Ow! Deeeaaannn!" Sam whined loudly and Dean continued to chant mentally about family and how killing his brother would be wrong.

The evening settled with Dean flicking through a magazine and mentally jotting down parts he needed to buy for his baby, Sam was scribbling answers down for his homework as Adam slyly tried to copy his elder brother's insane calculations without being noticed. Bobby wandered into the kitchen and smiled at the domestic bliss that filled the air. The atmosphere was warm as the soft overhead lighting illuminated the gentle cream and pastel green that Ellen had decorated their old farmhouse style kitchen with. The boys were growing up and like most teenagers; were loud, moody and usually screaming 'I hate you's at each other. So it was nice to walk into a quiet house for once.

He wasn't looking forward to Joanna hitting puberty…She was quickly showing signs of her mother's stubborn streak and Bobby Singer was man enough to know when his little Princess hit that special time, he would duck and cover.

"How was your day boy's?" Bobby asked as he turned on the oven like his Ellen had asked before he'd left the Roadhouse Bar they owned.

"S'okay." Sam mumbled as he hunched further into his homework.

"I need some new parts for my girl." Dean informed dropping his feet down to the floor from their resting place on the table. God help him if Ellen caught him with his feet on the table.

Adam shrugged and tried desperately to spy on Sam's answers but found it hard with the boy's nose about an inch from the paper. That's when Bobby noticed the clean white bandages on Sam's hands and he sighed. Kids could be cruel, especially in a small town and although Sam and Adam generally avoided conflict they often returned home with a few bruises and scrapes. Nothing like their older brother's time in school mind you. Dean had actively sought out conflict and every day was a trip to the Head Teachers office and a strain on the first aid kit.

Bobby knew that Dean's fights kept interest away from his younger brothers but now the kid had graduated and was taking an internship at Bobby's garage learning to become a mechanic, there was no-one to stop the bullies zeroing in on Sam and Adam. It didn't help that the younger Winchester boys kept trying to befriend kids who obviously shared their parent's prejudice. Sam and Adam were naturally academic and social and being treated like lepers made them miserable. Dean had no such qualms. He didn't give a rat's ass about other peoples opinions of him and generally was quite happy to let people know what he thought of them.

It helped that the boys had a sanctuary to come back to after school, a safe place to be a family and to practice their gifts without being judged.

Adam lightly blew against the wick of the candle allowing a surge of power to pass his lips. A small smile graced his eleven year old features as the wick caught fire and small gentle flame began to burn the wax covered wick.

"Well done Adam. You're a natural." Ellen praised from her place at the head of the dining room table. Her red chequered shirt and dark jeans made her look relaxed and comfortable after a long shift at the Roadhouse. Adam's grin widened under the praise and he tugged at his blue t-shirt in slight embarrassment. Dean clapped his hands on Adam's shoulders giving him a proud smile as he squeezed his brother's shoulders lightly. Sam sat across from his brothers enjoying the moment with some homemade nachos and cheese that Ellen had made earlier.

"Your turn Dean." Adam cheerfully bounced out of seat and scrambled around the table to nick Sam's nacho from his hand. His taller brother was lounging wrapped in grey sweats and a white t-shirt.

"Hey!" Sam laughed as he grabbed his younger brother in a headlock and rubbed his knuckles lightly against Adam's long dusty blonde hair. "You need a haircut Addy."

"Look who's talking!" Adam yanked at his eighteen year old brother's dangling bangs. Dean watched his younger brothers laughing as they mock wrestled each other.

"Come on Dean, you're turn!" Adam yelled and Ellen glared at his volume as she helped Jo spin some yarn on the old fashioned wheel she dragged out of the cupboard.

"Yeah Dean show us what you got then!" Sam chuckled as he adjusted his new limpet onto his lap. Dean shrugged in his dark green shirt that made the twinkle in his eyes sparkle and lent down to blow out Adam's candle and with his next breath lit it again. He gave his shocked brothers a smug smile as he dropped cockily into the chair Adam had vacated in favour of Sam's lap.

"Show off." Bobby muttered as he slid three beers across the table (two of which were watered down for the younger boys). Ellen gave him a pointed look and he just shrugged it off.

"Okay Sammy make it three for three." Dean tipped his bottle towards his brother as he gentle slid the burning candle towards Sam. Sam sighed and lifted Adam off his lap so the youngest Winchester could stand at his side and out of harms way. He reached forward and with a quick breath blew out the candle. He took a deep breath and channelled his power and with a quick puff of air the wick caught flame again. The family gave a small round of applause that made Sam blush and fold inwards.

"You boys have a natural gift right there." Ellen chuckled to herself.

"Come on Jo! Let's show the world that the Singer Princess is just as awesome!" Dean clapped his hands together and stalked over to a giggling Jo. Dean snatched up the squealing little girl and dropped her gently into his chair as Sam slid the dripping candle across the table. Dean blew out the candle again and helped lift up the blonde witch so she could reach.

Jo took a deep breath and then with an enormous exhale turned the candle into a flamethrower.

"Shit!" Sam ducked out of the way of the incoming flames and grabbed Adam on his way to the floor. Jo giggled once the flame had returned to normal and Bobby shook his head whilst muttering under his breath 'puberty is going to be hell'.

"You ok Sammy? Addy?" Dean asked as he peeked under the table to see his brothers clutching to each other on the floor.

"Fine." Sam's voice broke and Adam nodded quickly.

"That's my girl." Ellen chuckled as she continued to spin her yarn.

They had the Roadhouse too. The building was made of strong dark oak and the wooden theme was continued inside giving the bar an old western feel. Chairs and tables were placed haphazardly around the room and a green pool table took up space at the back. A square shaped counter acted as the bar on the right of the large room and a kitchen led of off the back of the bar. It was a small business with a few wacky patrons who didn't care if the woman behind the bar was a Witch or not, just so long as she served good beer.

Ash especially couldn't give a flying fuck that his boss could turn him into a toad. But then again Dr Badass really didn't care much about anything, he meandered through life with an uncanny ease. It was a miracle that Ellen hadn't fired him considered he hit on all the female patrons, slept on the pool table and hacked top secret government databases on his break. He wore sleeveless plaid shirts and ratty jeans and his long brown hair was styled in a mullet. Half the time he looked like he wasn't even there.

But Dean loved the odd genius and they'd bonded over Led Zepplin and pool tournaments on their shared shifts. Dean really didn't need to work nights at the Roadhouse considering he'd just finished his internship and was a fully qualified mechanic working days at Bobby's garage and scrap-yard. Heck Ash didn't need the help either, considering after ten there were only a few drunken patrons clinging to the last drops of their beer. But Ash knew that Dean was putting money aside for Adam and Sam's college tuition bills and had given him a hefty slap on the back and a drunken wink in admiration before he went back to hacking Britain's MI6.

Adam and Sam often joined Dean on his shifts if nothing else then to get out of the house on occasion. Sometimes the Singer family home could be a little bit suffocating especially if one of the boys had accidentally broken something with their powers…Like for instance Bobby's prized shotgun.

"I didn't mean to break it…" Adam sulked on the counter as Dean busied himself collecting glasses from the tables.

"I know Addy. And Uncle Bobby knows too…He just needs a couple of hours too cool off." Dean ruffled Adam's hair. "Hey remember when I set fire to the living room?" Adam laughed.

"Yeah. He was pissed off for days." Adam snickered and ducked as Dean attempted to slap the back of his head lightly.

"Language. You know Aunt Ellen will have your ass if she hears you swearing." Dean chastised.

"Not to mention yours too!" Sam yelled over his laptop smiling widely as Dean gave him the finger.

"What you doing over there geek?" Dean tossed the rag he'd been using to clean the tables with over his shoulder as he lent against the bar.

"Andy sent me the Stanford brochure. They have an excellent Pre-Law program, plus I could get a full scholarship!" Sam informed them proudly. Adam jumped off the counter and slipped under the opening to run over to Sam's lap and peek at the page his elder brother had on the screen.

"Looks cool." Adam muttered as he skimmed the pictures of smiling students. "You sure you want to go?"

"Yeah I'm sure. I'll come back, promise. I just want to see what's beyond our island." Sam shrugged as he moved Adam closer to his chest so he could rest his head on his younger brother's blonde locks.

"Yeah but how will we talk to you? Dean and I won't be the same if we can't make fun off you." Adam snickered as Sam tickled him in retaliation.

"He can pick up the phone and write to us. Heck by the time he's back you'll be running off to college chasing hot young things around the bar. Damn that reminds me we need to have THE TALK." Dean sauntered over to his brothers and turned a chair round so he could rest his forearms on the back and truly enjoy the look of sheer horror on his younger sibling's faces.

"Fuck I think I heard capitols with that!" Sam slapped the back of Adam's head as he and Dean chorused 'Language'.

"Adam's too young for the talk and I'd like to be on the other side of the country before you start thanks." Sam glared at Dean remembering vividly his version of THE TALK several years ago. It had involved Adam's beloved Unicorn and Sam flinched whenever Adam had tried to push Uni on him afterwards. Dean smirked.

"Fine no major life changing scaring just yet." Dean pulled Sam's laptop out of his gigantic brother's hands and swivelled it so he could see the screen. He grimaced at the layout and pictures. "Dude, cheesy."

"It doesn't matter what the site looks like Dean. What matters is the education. And it's the best Pre-Law program on the west coast." Sam huffed as he folded his arms around a smiling Adam.

"So what's Andy say about the costs then? 'Cause I've got a lot of money put aside for you two and your big brains." Dean asked as he flicked through the different pages on the email.

"You put money aside for us?" Sam asked a little shocked. Dean looked up from the laptop and rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment.

"Well…Yeah…" Dean didn't get to explain as he suddenly had two new limbs in the forms of his younger siblings.

"Thanks Dean. Just…Thanks." Sam mumbled into Dean's shoulder and Dean patted both their backs awkwardly.

"Okay, chick flick moment over." His brother's returned to their seating arrangements sheepishly and Dean ignored the slightly glassy looks to preserve his brother's manhood. Sam flipped the laptop back round and showed Adam all the pictures Andy had sent him as Dean got back to work. Dean made a mental note to send Andy a small 'thank you' present for his help. The man had brains that could only be matched by Ash and whenever he was back in town, in his awesome van, he'd hang out with Sam and Adam at the bar and help with their homework or just general questions that Dean couldn't answer without the aid of the Discovery Channel.

It wasn't the largest circle of friends or the best but the boys were happy enough.

The day when Sam was due to join the ranks of college geeks came sooner then Dean or Adam wanted. The day before he was due to leave their small closeted life on the island that feared them for a big world that didn't know the Winchester name, Ellen decided they needed to have a special send off. So the day started in the garden under the warm autumn sun and fiery leaves with organic pancakes and orange juice and a look from Dean and Adam's scary Aunt that halted their complaints at being served Sam's favourite breakfast.

The eldest and youngest Winchester endured the organic food and two of Sam's favourite films (old musicals that seriously harmed Dean's rock and roll reputation when he started sniffling) before Dean decided to take his siblings for a drive down to the beach with some 'borrowed' booze.

"Too growing up!" Dean cheered as he raised his beer to his younger brothers.

"At least one of us is." Adam smirked at Dean who flipped him the bird as Sam laughed.

"Shove it short-ass! I'm all grown up and I have few ladies to testify on my behalf." Dean leered. Adam made a gagging sound as Sam collapsed with laughter on the soft sand around their tiny camp fire.

"Dude gross!" Adam yelled throwing a cap at Dean's head. Naturally the elder brother dodged and retaliated causing a small wrestling match to ensue on the quiet shores.

After the boys had drank their 'borrowed' alcohol and messed around on the beach ignoring the ticking clock in the back of their minds, they drove back to their home where Ellen waited on the porch with a glare so deadly the boys feared for their lives. Ellen sighed and shuffled them inside as they muttered apologises for being late to Sam's big dinner.

Sam sat between Dean and Adam at the table that had been covered with filled platters of food. When Ellen did a meal, she made enough for a small army. They all tucked in to the large platters with a healthy appetite and some homemade non-alcoholic wine for everyone to enjoy.

Sam took comfort in the warmth of his brother's knees leaning against his as he joined in the laughter and stories of their childhood misadventures.

Sam woke at midnight to Dean shaking his shoulder. His brother had a sad smile and Sam knew that in a few short hours it would be every other weekend and holiday that he'd get to see his siblings and he felt the same sadness that reflected in his elder brother's eyes.

"What mad right of passage have you got planned now?" Sam asked trying to lighten the mood. Dean chuckled and Sam watched as the sadness receded into the back of Dean's bright green eyes.

"Nothing too severe. Come on." Dean motioned for Sam to get up as he tip-toed to the door. Like Ellen and Bobby didn't know that they were awake, they had magic too after all and it's not like they'd interfere unless Dean set fire to something…again.

"Why do I not believe you?" Sam muttered rhetorically and Dean threw a shoe at his head in revenge.

Sam nursed the growing lump on his head whilst Dean led him down to the greenhouse where Adam stood leaning on the table in front of their Grimoire. The twelve year old yawned as he scrubbed at his eyes. The room itself was covered in different plants and glass jars carrying different spices. The paint from the cupboards was peeling and leaves and petals littered the white washed floorboards.

"So…A spell?" Sam asked mildly worried about what Dean had planned. For his sixteenth Dean spelled Sam to lower his inhibitions which resulted in Sam's impromptu and infamous strip dance on a table in the Roadhouse.

"Relax. Nothing like you super sweet sixteen." Dean laughed as Adam shivered at the memory.

"Okay so no dancing then. So why are we here? Why didn't you ask me to get any ingredients?" Adam questioned as he snuggled into Sam's side when his older came to look at the withered page Dean had opened the book to. He spluttered as he re-read the words neatly penned into the tea stained page. "A blood spell! Dean are you nuts! This is dangerous!"

Adam shuffled next to Sam a little more awake then before as his elder brother yelled.

"A blood spell? But Aunt Ellen said never to do those." Adam mumbled. Dean just shook his head.

"It's not dangerous, not this one. Ignore the fact that it calls for some blood and really read what it's offering Sammy, Addy." Dean gestured for them to look at the page again as he lent against the cupboards behind him.

Sam lifted Adam up onto his hip and pulled the powerful spell book closer as he read the words again, this time taking them in.

The spell of binding is not something to take lightly. It can never be undone and is more powerful then any other spell in existence.

Such a spell unites those participating. It binds their souls together. You will hear the one you are bound too a thousand miles away, you will know if they suffer and you will know their joy as if it were your own.

Best preformed between those of family, strong friends and lovers. This spell asks for simple but powerful words to be spoken with cut palms joined.

"Dean…" Sam didn't know what to say. He thought leaving for college would mean leaving his brother's but Dean had offered a solution that meant he could take them with him in a way. He defiantly wasn't ashamed of the tears he shed then and there as he buried his face lightly into Adam's shoulder before gently dropping his tearful younger brother down. Dean just smiled as pulled their father's knife from the cover of the Grimoire and walked around the table.

"Ready for this?" Dean asked. Sam brushed his tears away as he nodded and Adam scrubbed at his eyes.

"Let's do this." Adam said as he held out his hands. Sam followed his younger brother's actions.

Dean held his youngest brother's hand gently in his as he placed the knife against one of Adam's palms. The youngest Winchester hissed as the cold metal sliced down creating a two inch long cut, dark crimson blood already oozing out of the shallow wound. Dean moved quickly to Adam's second palm and then to Sam's until both his brothers' were grimacing as they held their open wounds out. Dean flinched as he made quick work of his own hands and held them out.

"Your blood, my blood, our blood." All three of the Winchester boys chanted as they pushed their open wounds into each other. The words were filled with power that made the air in the room almost electric as a soft breeze passed around them. The boys grimaced as a sharp jolt of pain passed through their bodies and then a sudden awareness of each other.

Once their power had settled into a soft throbbing under their skin the boys dropped their hands from the circle they'd created. Adam lightly touched the new scars on his palms and smiled up at his big brothers who were in the middle of admiring their own tiny scars.

"And you were worried." Dean laughed at Sam feeling content and almost complete. It felt weird to sense Sam's amusement as well as see it.

"Shut up. Most of your plans aren't always this smart and usually end in being grounded." Sam smiled widely as he felt his own happiness curled round Adam's and Dean's.

"This is so cool." Adam muttered adjusting to three sets of feelings.

"Yeah short-stuff it kind of is." Dean agreed as he gave in a dragged his two brother's in for a quick suffocating hug. Adam buried his nose into Sam's ribs not caring that it sort of hurt and the angle was mildly uncomfortable. Sam pushed his head into the crook of Dean's neck like he was trying to bury himself under his elder sibling's skin and just stay there.

"I'm going to miss you both so much." Sam mumbled into Dean's skin knowing that even if they didn't catch the words the feelings now buzzing back and forth between their shared bond would be more then enough for his brother's to understand.

"Yeah Bitch we'll miss you too." Dean muttered as he chocked back at sob as a wave of sadness and don'twanttoogo hit him from Sam's end of the bond. Sam shivered as he was hit with his brother's love for him and an underlying sense of everythingwillbeok. Sam nodded into Dean's neck as he pulled Adam closer and for the first time that day, he truly believed everything would be ok.

"Hey Sam, how are you?"

"I'm good Dean, settling in ok here. How's you?"

"Good. Bored mostly. Not the same without you Bitch and your ridiculous hair."

"(Laugh) What about Adam?"

"Oh please, Adam never sided with you Sammy. We no longer have anybody to pick on."

"Oh dear. Wait…What about Jo?"

"Are you insane? The kid's just hitting puberty and she's like a mini Aunt Ellen. HELL NO! I value my life you idiot!"

"(Loud laughter)"

"Quit laughing Bitch. It's not funny, she really is that scary!"

"I'll take your word for it. How's Adam? Is he settling into High School ok?"

"Kid's having a bit of a hard time with the bullies. But him and Jo have found another witch to hang with…Little on the weird side but she's not bad or nuthin so it's all good. Think Adam has a crush on her"

"I DO NOT!"

"Was that Adam, Dean? Put him on."

"Fine Sammy, here kid-."

"I do not have a crush on Demi!"

"(Laugh) Hi Adam."

"Hi Sam. How's Stanford?"

"It's good. We start going to classes next week."

"Looking forward to it? Oh! How are you settling into your new place, Dean showed me the pictures you sent."

"I'm looking forward to having something other then unpacking to do. And yeah the place is great, it's not to far from campus and just around the corner from my new job."

"Cool! Sounds great Sammy, I'm happy for you."

"Thanks Addy. I miss you guys tons."

"We miss you too. Kind of sucks without you around..."

"(Sigh) Sucks not having you guys around either. Don't worry; I'll be back before you know it."

"Dean's making grabby hands for the phone so I gotta go. Take care Sammy." (I love you)

"You take care as well Addy." (I love you too)

"Hey Bitch."

"Jerk."

"Adam says you've got yourself a job. Congrats Sammy. Where you working?"

"Coffee Shop around the corner. Just in the mornings so it's before class. Plus free bagels and coffee."

"That's my boy! By the way Aunt Ellen, Uncle Bobby and the she-devil say hi and- OUCH! WHAT HELL JO! Seriously…Quit laughing Bitch!"

"(Still laughing) Can't help it…Tell them I say Hi back and I promise I'll take care of myself."

"You better Sammy. Well phone us again soon okay. Worry about you dude." (I love you)

"I will. Take care Dean." (I love you too)

"Will do kiddo. Have fun."

Dear Dean,

Stanford is amazing. I can't wait for you guys to come and visit. Classes are going well. It's interesting and some of the teachers are characters. There's one who always wearing on of those old fashioned teacher's capes and every time he strides down the hall I hear you singing the batman theme in my head. Its hilarious dude.

I know you don't want to know about what I'm learning because it bores you so I won't go into details about that. I will however gloat about how awesome the area is. Palo Alto has some great clubs that I know you'd love. There was a sponsored pub crawl the other week. You get tied to a partner so it's like a three legged race and have to buy drinks in alphabetical order. You'd have loved it! It was a great laugh. Brady (he lives across the hall and is studying professional journalism) ended his night sleeping in the fountain with his partner hanging out, upside down. I'll send you the picture of it.

I got tied to one of Brady's classmates. Jessica Moore. She's nice.

Ok so she's pretty damn awesome. Jess is beautiful, she's smart, she's funny, and we got on really well. She likes all the same stuff I do and I'm going on a proper date with her this Friday.

Jess has seen me walking sideways and turning green so the fact she actually wants to go on a proper date with me is pretty awesome.

Anyway I have to study for a few hours and then sleep. Man no one ever mentions how hard college life actually is. Juggling sleep, study, work, school and when to eat. Don't worry I'm managing plus all the money you've set aside for me is really helping out.

How is life on the island since I've been gone? And get Adam to write as well!

Sam

"Hey Dean!"

"Hey Sammy…Wow you sound excited. What's up?"

"Ask me how my date with Jessica went!"

"O-kay. How did your date with Jessica go Sam?"

"FANTASTIC!"

"Woah there tiger. Indoor voice."

"Sorry. It's just…wow…Dean she's great!"

"Aww has Sammy got a girlfriend?"

"Yes!"

"Sammy and Jess sitting in…Wait really? Wow Sam that's great! I'm happy for you kid, you're finally growing up. (Sniff) You're gonna be a real boy soon!"

"Shut up Dean!"

"Just remember; No glove, no love. Also if you really wanna please her you've got to-."

"Dean I swear to god if you break into song I'm gonna hang up on you!"

"Show a little tenderness- (Dial tone) Sammy?"

Dear Dean and Adam,

I just got engaged!

Sam

"Hello."

"CONGRATULATIONS!"

"JESUS! Ow did you have to scream that down the phone?"

"Of course we did! Congrats baby brother!"

"Dude Dean nearly cried."

"I did not! Lying brat!"

"(Loud laughing)"

"Quit laughing Bitch, we're trying to be happy for you here!"

"Sorry. Thanks you two. Really. You guys have got to be my best men."

"Awesome! We're totally there bro!"

"Stag do!"

"No strippers Dean."

"Come on!"

"No!"

"Fine…"

"Adam has Dean got that look on his face…You know the one were he's been told no but he's gonna do it anyway?"

"Yep."

"Fuck."

"You'll love it Sammy promise."

"Why do I not believe you?"

Dear Sam,

I think the island is getting smaller. Nope it's probably Adam getting bigger. The kid is shooting up and Aunt Ellen and Uncle Bobby are taking bets on if he's going to be taller then me. I blame you; you started this with your Sasquatch height!

Not much has happened. Between fixing cars and the bar and of course my lovely lady friends, everything is pretty normal. Adam's almost finished school. Can't believe the kid is almost eighteen now. Time has flown by.

I'm actually worried about the brat. He's been getting into fights with Uncle Bobby and Aunt Ellen. They think it's because he just wants off the island now. You know spread his wings and all the bull.

The kid is miserable here but he hasn't decided on college or anything. He was thinking about Med school but somehow that dream just died. Adam bought a map of America the other day. I think he's making a run for it soon. I want the kid to be happy I really do but he's still young and really wandering around America trying to 'find himself' isn't what I hoped for. We'll be driving up to see you soon and I hope a taste of college life will help him bury this wander lust idea he's got going.

A new café opened up a little while back. Owned by Lisa Braeden. A very hot chick dude. Might just ask her out for the night.

How are your studies going? Jess better be taking good care off you bro. Everybody says hi and to take care.

Dean
