Number II is here as well? It's hard to pretend to be ecstatic.

But Marluxia, why would you pretend to be ecstatic? It's easier when you actually are!

Heartlessness aside, I just happen not to be extremely fond of our Number II is all.

We do too have hearts! How many times do I have to say it?

But why?

Keep on telling yourself that, IX.

Oh, no particular reason. He's a bit too boisterous for my tastes and his ranking is still high enough to punish me for the mess that was Castle Oblivion.

Um... Mr. Marluxia, is it? I'm sorry for intruding on your conversation with Mr. Demyx, but um... I-I've read once that emotions are things children learn based on what they see around them and the reactions that such emotions elicit. S-So, um... even if Mr. Demyx is wrong about you having hearts, m-maybe he's right about you having emotions...?

And, based on what I've heard of your world's definition of the word "heart"... I... don't think I have one, either. B-But, I do have the ability to feel emotions..!

Ah, I'm sorry... it's probably not my place.
Sorry...

[...What? I have. xD *NOT A TOTAL ORGY XIII FANGIRL TO THE POINT OF RESEARCHING AND FORMULATING THEORIES ON THEM, OF COURSE NOT*]

Perhaps, but our particular breed of beings never truly had our own independant childhoods. We were spontaneous accidents created out of our Somebody's sheer will to continue living. While our former selves might have had proper emotional development, we have not, and we will continue being unable to develop emotionally without hearts, for they contain the capacity we need to hold those feelings.

If we do manage to display emotion or react, it is normally just a recollection of how we would normally feel or react, drawn from memories of our past lives we managed to retain.

}{ OOC :: XDD; lmao It's cool. :D And that theory makes alot of sense, too! }{

...You have the memory of your "former selves' emotional development", don't you? Then... shouldn't that be enough? I mean... I can imagine how it would be more difficult to feel some things when you've lost your "heart", but can you really have lost it all entirely? I've seen others from your world... who have also lost their "hearts"... claim to feel things like happiness, sadness, fear and... love. Are you saying that these feelings are nothing but lies? What do these people have to gain from lying about their feelings... especially to someone that they consider important?

I'm sorry, but I suppose I don't exactly understand... otherwise, I'd know more about where you're coming from... and be able to understand you better...

[If only A.B.A. knew more about them, I could so go on a full-fledged rant now. *dies*]
