First things first, don't even worry about ragging on the series. It might be a favorite of mine but it's far from my all time favorite and really my favorite thing about it is the characters and there are parts that make me love it.

And as for the question of whether or not I watch LotS, Seeker is my baby, it's my crack, it's my love and obsession and something that I'll never get over being canceled. And I love it more then the books also.

I hate how TG spends too much time on the details as well. I hate hoe he repeats things over and over and over again sometimes where I feel that I the books could be hundreds of pages shorter if he left that out. (or focusing way too much on minor characters ala Soul of the Fire when he could keep the focus on the more awesome main ones). I also hate how his writing is misogynist and how much detail he puts into describing rape and/or torture scenes. And why must every woman in the series be raped or almost raped? Richard is such a Gary Stu! Show Richard is tens times better because he's not always right, he doesn't always know the answer, he's half the time clueless and going on figuring it out on the way, while book!Richard knows everything and even if no on else believes him, in the end he'll be right! And he gives speeches that last pages and pages and I want to throw the book in frustration cause it's so boring. But I love Kahlan in the books, I think she's a total bamf, all kicking ass and taking names but I blame TG and his misogynist writing that make her needy. And actually I like Cara better in the books. Basically I read the books mostly for the characters and to add more R/K scenes to my canon. But I can see the flaws and why it might not be for everyone.

Indeed! Most of the time I wonder where Goodkind's editor was doing when he was supposed to be editing, or what he was smoking.

I also hate how his writing is misogynist

YES SO MUCH. I feel like he writes from the point of view of someone who thinks he is a feminist, but in reality is really, really not.

Richard is such a Gary Stu!

Right now, in the fourth book, what has me frustrated is that Richard seems to understand more of High D'Haran than Berdine WHICH DOESN'T EVEN MAKE ANY SENSE IT IS NOT POSSIBLE WTH. Goodkind is so intent on making him perfect at everything and it's so infuriating!

But I love Kahlan in the books, I think she's a total bamf, all kicking ass and taking names but I blame TG and his misogynist writing that make her needy.

I think Kahlan is a badass when she is not in Richard's vicinity or thinking about him or doing something related to him. When she is on her own she is someone who could easily become my favorite character, but when she's with Richard she reverts into an angsty teen. I blame Goodkind's misogynistic writing too. >.<

And actually I like Cara better in the books.

Really? That's quite interesting, since I feel like Show!Cara is so much more vibrant and witty. What do you like better about Book!Cara?

I was devastated when LotS was canceled. Absolutely crushed. I keep hoping it'll come back on the air but I don't think there's any hope left. =(

Hmm..I actually think she's funnier in the book. She's always teasing Richard and I find it hilarious. And she doesn't want to feed chipmunks! And she has a rock collection and gets attached to pet fish. I love how her and Kahlan are the best bffs ever and Cara is always watching out for her, offering to hurt anyone who messes with her bff. Maybe it's because show!Cara was still on her way to being completely one of the gang, I mean her characterization got cut after 1 season with the cancellation, book!Cara is already in the position where R/K are her family and show!Cara only approached that towards the end of the season.

Though granted you have only read up to the 4th book and the 6th book is chalked full of awesome reasons whey I love Cara so much.
