I had this hilariously clever Oracle pun, but I forgot it...

01. Name Soph

02. LJ Username takemeto_utopia

03. How did you find out about the Percy Jackson series? I saw the film trailer and thought it looked like just the kind of thing I'd love, but never got around to seeing it, then my best friend's brother bought the books so I borrowed them from him.

04. What do you wish to accomplish in life? I want to be a book editor. People keep trying tell me how terrible the pay is in the publishing industry, but editing is the only thing I can imagine myself doing. I love to write and it is kind of a secret I-won't-care-if-it-never-happens-but-secretly-I-will-be-slightly-devastated dream of mine to be published one day. I adore travelling. I just want to go everywhere... and know everything, about everything and everywhere. I want to get married, have kids, have a career...

05. What type of magical object would you like to have? Not an ability, but I'd love to a method of travel, like shadow travelling I suppose, but that doesn't drain your energy so you can go international... Imagine not having to pay airfares or ever having to wait for trains... Wouldn't it be the most fantastic ability ever?

06. What makes you like or dislike a person? Hypocricy drives me up the wall and I'm also discovering that I dislike fickleness very much. I really value loyalty in friendship. Also I like openness - people who aren't afraid to wear their hearts on their sleeves.

07. Are you a leader or a follower? I honestly do not know the answer to this. I'm not a follower. I'm happy to just do my own thing and if that's different to what other people are doing I'm usually not bothered, but I don't really feel like that makes me a leader...

08. What would you consider your fatal flaw? I'm going to say curiosity, which I've actually listed as a good quality, but I can definitely see how curiosity could get way out of hand.

09. What do you think are your top five best qualities? 01, 02. Curiousity/Intellect. I'm putting these together because I feel like they feed off each other. I'd like to think of myself as pretty cluey, but the reason for that is that I want to know everything, so I seek out knowledge and I really enjoy learning. I'm currently on a gap year, having finished high school last November. I've been travelling for the past eight months, which has been amazing because as I wrote above, I love travelling, but I'm so ready to get to uni in February and start using my brain again!
03. Idealism. Whether idealism is a quality or a flaw is really a matter of opinion, but it is something that I definitely like about myself. I am a romantic. I'm not a hopeless romantic - I am not niave and I can be... skeptical, I suppose is the word, but I have hope, you know?
04. Perfectionism... which I tentitively put in the qualities list, not the flaws (funny how often the two cross over, isn't it?) I'm pretty obsessive about organising stuff. I like things to be neat and pretty - I tidy my bedroom obsessively. I obsessobsessobsess over what I write, whether it be for fun or work - which can be a problem when I have lots of deadline close together, because I don't always know how to leave something alone and move on.
05. Optimism. I can always find something to look forward to and I'm good at seeing the positives in a situation.
10. What do you think are your top five worst qualities? 01. Over-analysing (which is awkward to make into an adjective). I overthink things a lot. I something read into situations things that just aren't there, and overcomplicate things. Then I write my conclusions (which may or may not resemble the actual situation at hand) into fiction... which I never complete. :P
02. Competitiveness is kind of my brand of revenge. I don't like confrontation, generally, but I do do competition. I'm pretty sneaky about it. Not a lot of people realise how competitive I can actually get, but when it comes to people I dislike, or people who've hurt me or people I care about, all I want to do is beat them or prove them wrong.
03. Impatient, which is sort of self-explanatory. I don't like having to wait.
04. Pride - I liked school for the most part but you know what I really disliked? Group work. Shudder. I didn't like having to rely on other people in situations like that because so often I felt like I could do the job better alone.
05. Rambling. I tend to ramble. Kind of a lot... :P

the series
11. Who is your favorite character in the Percy Jackson series? Can I cheat and say two? I cannot chose between Percy and Annabeth. I don't have a whole lot of faith in YA so I usually steer clear, but Percy's narration is so relatable and I love how awkward and gorgeous he is - especially with girls, like in The Battle of the Labyrinth when Annabeth sits so close to him at the Posiden table and he's all like, "trying to concentrate on this SRS BNZ conversation I'm having but AHH pretty girl sitting next to me"! I ship them so hard.
I love Annabeth because I feel like there is so much more to her character than what we see. I can't get enough of her. (Meta meta meta, anybody? I could go for some good PJO meta but I haven't seen any?)

12. Who is your least favorite character in the Percy Jackson series? Um, Ethan? Because he's a douche? That's sort of a cop-out answer but I like everyone else... Oh, except for Bianca d'Angelo. I totally understand her decision to join the hunters, but honestly, a demigod tells you not to steal from a god, you don't steal from a god.

13. If you could spend a day with one of the Percy Jackson characters, who would you choose and why? Percy because he seems like the sweetest guy. I sort of want him to be my best friend. And I feel like wherever Percy is, Annabeth will be close by, which is cool with me too.

14. What is something you would change about the series? I wish RR would give Annabeth a break. I haven't actually read The Lost Hero yet, but man does that girl have bad luck. :(

15. What is something you would never change about the series? Percy's relationship with his mum is the sweetest thing ever, and it's even more precious because we experience it through Percy's narration.

etc
16. Pick a fictional character from any book/movie/tv show/etc. Which cabin would you place them in and more importantly why? Lesley Burke from Bridge to Terabithia has got to be a daughter of Apollo. She has this glorious creativity about her that belongs in the cabin of the god of poetry and the arts.

16.Sort these words in order of appeal to you: beauty - glory - security - power - wealth - self-fulfillment - freedom. Explain your answer.
1. Freedom is something I take for granted, but I don't know how I'd go if I ever had to give it up.
2. Self-fulfillment - There is a lot I want to do in my life. I kind of feel like now, when I'm young, is the time to look into my heart and see my dreams, and set about making them happen.
3. Security. Ultimately, I want to be content and fulfilled. A sense of security definitely contributes to that.
3. Beauty. I like things to be pretty. I love making things beautiful.
4. Wealth. I'm not fussed about being wealthy, I just want to have enough money to be able to travel, buy books and decorate my home beautifully.
5, 6. Power and glory do not even figure on my list of priorities.

17. Which god do you feel the least likeness towards? Ares. I'm not great with gore. Or conflict, for that matter...
