Title: Salvage My Heart- Chapter 11
Pairing: Sonny/Alex
Rating: M for language and future references to serious issues (Yep)
Summary: After her parents are finally pushed over the limit, Alex Russo is sent to boarding school for something she didn't do. It's there she meets Sonny Munroe, a girl who's distant nature catches Alex's intense curiosity. Will Sonny reveal her secrets? Will Alex reveal her own? blahblahblahblahblah? yea I suck at summaries but you get the gist.
A/N: So it has been a while.... I apologize for the lack of updates or news about this fic. I've felt really bad about that. I actually haven't written anything in a while. Hopefully this turned out okay. Constructive criticism is extremely appreciated. Even if you think my writing has gone downhill, please tell me. Thanks to all who have been so patient. I hope you like it. It's a little shorter than I intended but I think it works for what I'm aiming to achieve. They'll get longer. I promise that. This is still in Alex's perspective. Thoughts and memories/flashbacks are in Italic while actual dialogue is in bold italic.
DISCLAIMER: I don't own Alex Russo or Sonny Munroe.

Kissing her felt like falling into a sea of raspberries. The way she was pulled flush against another warm body made her knees turn into jelly. The way lips glided over her own, confident yet still…

Slow. Languid. Searching.

She ached just from the thought of those full lips against her own.

Shaking her head, Alex’s eyes roamed around homeroom, blankly grazing over faces quickly before quickly going back to the place she wanted to stare at if her life depended on it. Seeing that the girl who had taken over her mind had still yet to come, Alex let out a sigh before looking away from the doorway. Tapping her fingers on her desk, Alex remained hunched over, her eyes staring uninterested at her surroundings. The same noises surrounded her. Girlish giggling over the latest antics of Nick Jonas, laughter over the latest news story TMZ covered, mocking whispers over the school’s latest juicy gossip. Well…more like the school’s latest train wreck. Huffing, Alex quickly pushed back the urge to bang her head against the desk.

Leave it to her to act like an idiot just when the hottest girl she ever made out with would appear.

She could still taste her lips on her own. Closing her eyes, she floated back to that moment once again, images and feeling erupting within her again. The way hands tugged at her waist, hands rubbing the small of her back as she was devoured. Swallowing, Alex covered her face, heat flooding throughout her body. Biting her lip, Alex cursed herself for thinking about last night once again. She cleared her throat, blinking back the images as finger nails detached from the skin of her palm. The sixth time in ten minutes she’s gone back there, her mind wandering back to that heated embrace she needed to get back to as soon as she could.

Can’t do that with Wax-face staring at me.

Eyes flicking back once again, Alex couldn’t hold back the eye roll and the smirk this time at the sight of the scowling Courtney Love glaring daggers at her. Guess she didn’t appreciate the scented candles I gave her. Sure they had her initials… Looking back at the girl, Alex raised her hand and waved at her girlishly. “Hey Courtney! Have you melted the candles yet?”

“You little piece of-”

“Excuse me.”

Turning towards the girl who interrupted her, Courtney quickly stopped the biting retort that would leave her lips. The blonde’s blue eyes widened as her nemesis’s eyes sparkled, happy to see the girl she’s been waiting for.

An eyebrow arching, Sonny regarded the blonde coolly. Glancing over at the desk that had become her permanent seat, she again looked at Courtney before letting out an bemused sigh. “Is it a thing now to stand in front of me for a minute before you finally move?”

Jaw snapping shut, Courtney’s face flushed with embarrassment as she heard the stifled giggles of her friends. Sending a fiery gaze that shut them up quickly, Courtney turned back to the calm and collected girl. “You think you’re such hot shit, don’t you? Everyone knows you’re messed up!”

Eyes widening at the confrontation taking place, Alex arched an eyebrow, holding back the pure confusion that threatened to erupt from her face upon hearing Courtney’s last remark, She stared at Courtney, noticing the flushed and defensive body language she had. She didn’t hold a drop of confidence she normally had which Alex found interesting. Glancing back at Sonny, Alex let her eyes dart across the dark haired girl’s face, looking for a trace of defensiveness or anger. However, all Alex found was the same cool expression on her face she saw the very first time she saw her.

Eyes narrowing, Sonny let her eyes move up and down Courtney, as if she was critiquing the girl in front of her. “I’m guessing that’s a yes then.”

“Russo, you’re even more of an idiot than I thought you were if you’re hanging out with this bitch. Might as well tell her to suck the life right out of you now instead of later-”

“Yo, Rubbermaid? Just cuz you’re a scared little girl who feeds on making everyone else feel like shit doesn’t mean you’re so awesome either. In fact,” Sonny rasped out, moving closer to the blonde as she stood face to face with her, “it makes you… a pathetic… bitch.”

“WHAT DID YOU CALL-”

“Get out of my face, Courtney. When you grow a real spine, then talk to me. You never really did anything for yourself,” Sonny responded, her voice tired as she stepped away, deeming the conversation officially pointless.

Blinking repeatedly, Courtney let her eyes flick around, taking in the curious faces before straightening up. “Whatever. Psycho.”

Suddenly she whirled around and slowly made her way back towards Courtney. “Care to repeat that?” Sonny growled, eyes cold as she clenched her fists. Eyes widening, Courtney felt herself frozen as she stared at the girl’s eyes before slowly shaking her head and rushing back to her seat. “I didn’t think so.” Slowly making her way back to her seat, Sonny sat down, her gaze stony as her eyes darted around the room, almost daring anyone to look at her. No one did.

Except Alex.

Taking in the sight of girl next to her, Alex swallowed harshly after watching the tense but short confrontation first hand, her eyes darting over at Courtney for a spit second before returning back to the beautifully frigid girl next to her.

“Are you-”

“Fine.”

“Are you sure abo-”

“Yeah.”

“What was she talking-”

“Since when did you care about what SHE had to say?”

Blinking quickly, Alex was taken aback. Staring at the girl’s cold eyes, she clenched her fists as she turned to stare in front of the class, watching as the teacher make her way into the room, apologetic for the lack of punctuality she displayed today. “You’re right. I don’t.”

Two steps forward…

“Cool.”

…Five steps back.
