Went skiing Wednesday and I must say, I was better than I ever was before, dusting my dad and aunt (the coloradoan!) and only wiped once. But oooh what a wipe. It was quite beautiful in a very chaotic, rolling down the mountain type way. I tripped over a 6in. shrubbery (not enough snow to cover all the little treelings) and my left knee went right and my ankle went..righter. A lot of pain initially but I've fallen before albeit never as bad as that. So, I tried to stand and the injury was definitely not weight bearing. Soooo...I got to go for a tobagan ride! The EMT ski patrol guys were really awesome about everything. Sadly, it meant I had to quit early, but I went to the clinic today and it looks like there was no permanent damage (ie ligament/fracture/tear) so maybe I can try again in another year or two. Probably means nothing else for the rest of the season (as the doc said, "don't poke the tiger in the eye"), so I'm a little sad but very grateful that I didn't do anything worse. Just means a little bit of hobbling for a while if that. Even these past two days have shown great improvement. I can now walk on my left leg as long as I don't try to rotate it and it can only bend so far but that's ok too.
Yesterday i got to go for a hot air balloon ride! Took pictures, will put them on facebook most likely. More later, ciao
