First of all, I am in nostalgia mode. I found icons from The Chipmunk Adventure and nearly went nuts--this was one of my favorite films as a child! so I immediately got icons and now am brainstorming how to get my hands on a copy (is it on Netflix? need to check. Otherwise, buying a DVD is a great plan!). Thinking back on it, I think watching this movie about a hundred times had a lasting effect on my barometer for a good movie: that it be full of travel, have women interacting with each other instead of constantly with dudes, and have at least one rockin' musical number with snakes.
(I think that between this and Aladdin, I also ended up with a pretty serious fixation on the exoticized European interpretation of 'harem' aesthetic, between costume, decor, and architecture. I mean ajfglasdg look how cute that costume is, I don't care that it's inaccurate, it's cute. She's got a little dangly crown attached to a thoroughly romanticized veil, I mean, come on.)
In other news, got a flat tire today. Apparently, the tire was sufficiently "gashed open" that the repair shop couldn't actually repair it and had to replace it for, like, $150. Ugh.
The Adventures of Bunnie Shepard in Mass Effect continue: she leveled up once after mining for ore, and once after providing evidence to bust a corrupt corporation. Blowing up tanks? Defeating a horde of space pirates? Nah, nothing.
