Saturday dinner at Med Grill is, without fail, a stressful procedure; however, I'm really glad that I was taken off the double (that'd be 11AM - nearly 11PM) today so that our Newest Newbie could train on a lunch shift. I'm going in at three, and right now I'm in that uncomfortable space of "hrrrm I'm going to need to leave the house soon, should I keep playing Dragon Age or start getting ready early?"
But since Dragon Age is here, my choice is pretty obvious.
It has totally sucked up my life; I just keep cycling through replays to find new, hilarious cutscenes and side conversations, and learn more about the adorably well-crafted and sweetly characterized human beings (and elf and dwarf and qunari giant and golem and dog, don't forget the dog!) that make up your party. (Having just watched on YouTube an optional scene where Sten the Giant/Qunari tries to "sneak" into a heavily guarded fort by declaring, "I am a giant with a war dog. Either I am here to deliver this dog to your kennels, or I am here to attack you all. You had better hope it is the former...", I am full of love for him. No, wait, I am always full of love for Sten.)
I do need to stop playing Mages, though, even though I think it's the most enjoyable gameplay option; your number of Things What You Can Do is much higher, since there are so very many spells to choose from, and the number of ways to construct a Mage PC are seemingly quite a lot greater than ways to construct a Warrior or Rogue. (Rogues are my second favorite, mostly because of unlocking, traps, and stealth. And pickpocketing. That does make play especially fun, I will admit.)
Also, re: my previous complaints about the game? Apparently there is a tutorial somewhere, you just have to enable it. Maybe if I'd read the manual I'd know that.
And I still love how this game handles the messianic figure; Andraste? You go, girl.
