Old friends and other things

You know someone's been missing you when they manage to fish you out of the sea of humanity on a networking site.

I've gotten back in touch with my high school sweetheart and his mother.  Which, on the whole is awesome.  He's doing well, she's following her dream, and I'm hoping everything stays sunny for both of them.  They were a big part of my pre-college life and I'm glad to have them back.  Again.  Let's hope that this time I don't lose touch again.

Sinus headache.  The weather, yo-yo that it is this time of year, has triggered misery in my cranium and sitting up makes me dizzy a bit right off the bat.  Hopefully the cold medicine I'm downing will fix the congestion and take away the hurt long enough for me to get the laundry done and write my long-overdue article for Digital Mysteries.

I have two pairs of knee-high cashmere-blend (wool, cashmere, and bamboo-derived nylon) socks.  One is stripy.  A friend found them at Costco and stated that a Costco run for the purposes of obtaining more pairs could be arranged.  Needless to say, I'm thrilled.  Perhaps I will have warm feet for the winter.  I just hope they are compatible with my current shoe selection so I don't need to spend money I don't really have on good winter shoes - although Clark's has some adorable tweedy pairs that make me covet them profoundly.

I've actually gone and gotten a pixie cut for the hair, which is taking advantage of how my hair wants to flop when not styled at all.  I'm again thrilled by the intuitive genius of my stylist.  After seeing what it does when dry, she knew what needed to be done so that no matter how little time I have, I'll look cute.  And I do, which is the best. <3

Another friend asked me a couple days ago if, because of my creativity and ability to organize and plan things (I think she confused me with someone else on the organization thing), I would help her plan a Steampunk-themed wedding reception.  Being who I am (read: sucker), I of course said yes.  Now I need to scrape and scrabble up all the resources possible to come up with ideas.

Panic mode engaged.

...back to work!
