[She summons her enormous scythe which she handles with ease in one hand; it comes into Gurgurant's path and Vanessa is pushed back by the force of Ashnard's blow. She clenches her teeth and strains, but stays upright. Gul, one of the behemoths, takes a lunge at Ashnard.]
