Hi guys,
I was trying to budget my trip to Japan and figure out how much I need to save in order to go.
According to my calculations, with the Yaoi tour from POP! Travel - but having to come in from Canada - I'm looking at $3150 for the flight, hotel and tour:
Air Canada Non-stop to Japan: $1501.07 CAD
Hotel and Tour: $1600.00 USD = $1650 CAD
*sigh* I don't know if I can afford to do this.
I was thinking if I could swing a connecting flight to make things cheaper somewhere in the States then it might be cheaper (and I could maybe use my Mom's Airmiles, which said I could use once in my lifetime) but it only makes about a $300 difference and could add 3-12 hours to my total flight, which is not worth it to me - because I'm going to get confused already. I haven't been on a plane since I went to Florida when I was 8. -_-
I wanted to try and save like $4000 - $5000 but I was including spending money and Tokyo is supposed to be crazy expensive.
http://www.geocities.com/japanfaq/japanfaq3.html Looks like it's prostitution again for me....
It sounds like I won't be able to buy too many clothes (according to this FAQ site) because I'll be a like a giant tree in Japan...but it sounds like I can be drunk all the time too (and publically! ;p)
At least the conversion rate is easy enough (not knowing the tax side in Japan though) but $1 CAD is about 100 Yen, so a pop is still like $1.25.
But the FAQ said to bring cheap gifts with you to show "Big Kindness".
If I'm going to be BIG in Japan, it would be nice to be seen as Big Kindness. ;p
I've seen this in manga too - like a "Please take care of me!" gesture. Apparently the radios stations suck so maybe I'll make some mix-tapes.
Take care, guys!
