i graze my fingers upon stone, trailing along lives most have forgot
our fingers touch through cold steel bars
whose side are you on anyway?
the winter rain chills to my face, releasing a smile long thought dead
you and i know the truth
my hands seek out your warmth,
but we shall never be closer than this
i've known this since dreams
awakening in the dawn as i always have
with your mist streaming out my door
i long to sing beside you, if i could
i would be that snowflake upon your wrist
that came dancing to you upon the wind
and refused to melt until your breath
touched it's frail body
